PAUL’S DEFENSE BRIEF (PDB) – Democratic senators call for directive prohibiting active-duty troop deployment against Americans before Trump returns to power.
Sens. Elizabeth Warren, and Richard Blumenthal said they want protections in place in case Trump makes good on his threat to root out “the enemy from within” by utilizing the National Guard, “or if really necessary, by the military.”
The senators said they fear Trump will invoke the Insurrection Act beyond its legal limits in a quest to target political opponents. The law allows the president to deploy military personnel within U.S. borders in narrow circumstances of insurrection, rebellion or extreme civil unrest.
They added that a new policy directive must make clear that the Insurrection Act should only be used in instances “when state or local authorities are so overwhelmed and that the chief executive of the state requests assistance or attacks against the U.S. government overwhelm state or local authorities.”
The directive should also state that the president must consult with Congress to the “maximum extent practicable” before invoking the act, the senators wrote.

The dems are intentionally stating that Pete Hegseth is against women in combat, because they are using the lose term which usually refers to the combat zone. They know perfectly well that what Pete means is “not in direct combat,” hand-to-hand with the enemy, in the trenches, in the infantry, in the combat arms. I am a retired 20-year woman veteran and I agree with Pete’s “no direct combat” position. There are far too many proven studies of women’s reduced body strength. This has nothing to do with equal opportunity in a job or for career advancement. Women in direct combat will NOT have an equal opportunity of survival. Period. And, if taken prisoner, the chances of sexual abuse by the captors is far too great. Why would our government put our women in that situation? Saying that men do get assaulted and raped sometimes when prisoner of war is not the type of equal opportunity that our government allow. And should our government put male prisoners in a situation where they might cooperate with the enemy if it might stop the abuse of women if the men are forced to listen to women scream under torture or abuse. So many more other reasons to never put women in direct combat! But you get my gist.
