David Hogg, a survivor of the Parkland school shooting and a prominent gun control activist, has revealed he is contemplating a bid for a top leadership position within the Democratic Party. Hogg, 24, shared his frustrations with the party’s current trajectory and emphasized the need for accountability and fresh leadership.

In a post on X, Hogg criticized Democratic leaders for their response to last month’s electoral outcome, writing:
“The Democratic Party needs to open its eyes and take its fingers out of its ears. While it wasn’t a landslide, the American people still rejected us in favor of a convicted felon. I’m sick and tired of hearing party leaders say ‘they tried’ without taking any accountability. We need a new direction and new people.”
Hogg, who became a national figure following the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, has since been an outspoken advocate for gun control and progressive policies. He now believes the Democratic Party must undergo significant reforms to better represent working-class Americans who’ve abandoned them in droves.
“It’s time to put our words into action and change the party from the inside,” Hogg added. “If we’re the party of the working class and everyday Americans, then that should reflect our leadership and who we recruit to run for office.”
Previous Political Advocacy
This isn’t Hogg’s first foray into political influence. He lobbied for failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris to consider Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, demonstrating his interest in shaping the party’s direction.
Previously, Hogg co-founded the political action committee (PAC) “Leaders We Deserve” in 2023. The PAC aimed to support young, progressive candidates in the 2024 elections by providing financial backing, strategic advice, and volunteer resources. By September 2024, it had raised nearly $8.5 million to bolster campaigns for Gen Z and millennial Democrats.
In the 2024 election cycle, “Leaders We Deserve” endorsed 12 candidates, focusing on those advocating for progressive causes such as gun control, reproductive rights, and public school funding. The outcomes were mixed: five candidates secured victories, while seven were defeated.
A notable success was Sarah McBride’s election to the U.S. House of Representatives from Delaware, making her the first openly transgender person elected to Congress.
Despite these successes, the majority of endorsed candidates faced long odds. Kristian Carranza’s campaign for a Texas House seat received over $1 million in support but ultimately lost in a close race. Similarly, Averie Bishop, a former Miss Texas, was defeated in her bid for the Texas Legislature.

To qualify as a survivor, he would have had to actually be in the building during the shooting. While he thinks of himself as a gun control activist, he is less prominent than 99% of BLM rioters. I doubt the Democrat party will even return his calls about anything resembling a leadership position.
I have to cringe every time I see this clown listed as a survivor of the school shooting! The initial reports placed him at a fast food restaurant when he heard sirens and jumped on his bike to return to the school. Just another case of the media blowing smoke up the general public’s butt in order to sensationalize their news to draw views. As an older person I truly miss the days when the news was reported fairly and not inflated with media political bias!
That smarmy little punk was NOT at the school when the atrocity occurred and he knows it but that sure hasn’t stopped him from trying to capitalize on his ‘survivor’ status.

Hogg is a total opportunistic fraud that wasnt even present in the school at the time of the shooting. Hogg bicycled up to the school to get in on the free TV exposure, and hid the truth about his fraud! With FBI agents for parents, lies are a family trait!
