Today, Education and Labor Committee Republican Leader Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.), Republican Study Committee Chairman Jim Banks (R-Ind.) and Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education Subcommittee Republican Leader Burgess Owens (R-Utah) sent letters to the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and NewsGuard Inc. seeking additional information on the January 25th agreement that would put NewsGuard’s ‘anti-misinformation’ product in the classrooms of AFT’s more than 1.6 million members.
The letters seek information on the agreement, the application of NewsGuard’s product in the classroom and the extent to which local officials and parents were consulted about the rollout.
“We can’t let this kind of left-wing propaganda into our schools, or let groups condemn so-called ‘misinformation’ while peddling it themselves. I’m not surprised that AFT is teaming up with an organization that ranks Chinese state-run media sites higher than American conservative sites, but I refuse to let it happen without a fight. AFT has long demonstrated that its priority is politics, not education. It is painfully clear that NewsGuard does not have the judgment necessary to teach our nation’s children how to tell truth from fiction,” Rep. Foxx said.
“The left is obsessed with indoctrinating kids. AFT has decided that NewsGuard, whose leadership falsely dismissed the Hunter Biden laptop story as ‘Russian disinformation,’ deserves to be empowered to tell children what is and isn’t ‘misinformation.’ Political advocacy groups should focus on people who are old enough to vote. They have no place in taxpayer funded public schools. House Republicans must use our oversight power to keep politics out of classrooms, and I am pleased to partner with Ranking Member Foxx and Rep. Owens on this important effort,” Rep. Banks stated.
“The collaboration between Randi Weingarten’s American Federation of Teachers and NewsGuard is not an honest attempt to separate fact from fiction. It’s yet another coordinated effort to politicize our academic institutions. Using biased ratings to referee free expression and opposing political viewpoints is un-American and harms the education of our children. I’m proud to work with Ranking Member Foxx and Chairman Banks to call out this alarming partnership,” said Rep. Owens.

CNN doesn’t meet their propaganda standards anymore? The indoctrinators must be wed out to reclaim what’s left of our education system.
What is left of our public schools educational system? From where I am the only way to fix the Public School Educational system would be to FIRE every last one of those school board members, Principals, Teachers, Coaches I mean cleanse the system completely that includes all the learning materials. Example: the American History books are lies , there were back in the 50’s also. They did not tell the truth/whole story just the parts they wanted children to know and it warped our minds to some extent but can’t compare to the garbage in the classrooms now. So, it would be a complete overhaul like I stated it needs to be cleansed from top to bottom then bottom to top leaving not one crumb left. Out public school system is completely worthless as it is. Our children are being ripped off and drug through filth.
There is a better way, ABOLISH (defund) the Department of Education in its entirety!
I have often thought that if we could shut down the department of education and get the federal government out of the education business a great many problems would be solved. Schools did just fine operating on a local basis and the parents had their input with no problems.
The Soviets and Hitler indoctrinated children to separate them from their parents and destroy the nuclear family which is one of BLM’s tenets.

Actually this has been going on for a LONG time. Here in Wyoming, what should be one of the freest states in the Union, children here are subjected to “CNN Kids”. The propaganda there is right on par with Pravda AmeriKa [aka “mainstream media”].
Well this is why we need to get VOUCHERS so that parents can send their children to schools of their choice. It is obvious that our public school systems are a complete failure and the democrats just want to indoctrinate our children with their pathetic lies and cater to illegals etc.. The public school teachers are worthless at this moment I don’t know any where I live that I would want teaching any of our kids. Vouchers are a must and we Citizens need to demand this and that it is for ALL Parents not just the poor/lower income, It needs to be equal across the board for ALL PARENTS to be able to send their children to a school of their choice.
To fix this and all of America’s other problems, you have to get to the genesis, beginning with how America’s ended up with the caliber of civil “leaders” she has today on both sides of the imaginary aisle.
The problem is most of today’s alleged Christians and patriots don’t have the courage to do so.
Could it have something to do with Article 6’s Christian test ban by which mandatory biblical qualifications were likewise eliminated? Once adopted, it was inevitable that America would be ruled by nothing but nincompoops, scoundrels, incompetents, immoral reprobates, and outright criminals. Sound familiar?
Take nincompoops, for example. Exodus 18:21’s qualifications begin with the fear of Yahweh. Kings David and Solomon point out the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Thus, without the fear of Yahweh, you end up with, at best, nincompoops as your alleged leaders.
The best you can ever get from the Constitutional Republic’s unbiblical election system is the lessers of two evils. Sometimes, the worst of the worst. And always, the evil of two lessers.

It is time for Randi Weingarten and other Progressives to cash in on their pensions and get out of the business of damaging out youth with misinformation. While our REAL CONSERVATIVES are at it, how about investigating where the billions of dollars that were appropriated by the Federal Government during Covid went and have Weingarten prove how it was spent. If she can’t, let the trial begin!!!
