As President Donald Trump pushes forward with his agenda at a rapid pace, the Republican National Committee (RNC) is quietly making significant strides in securing the integrity of future elections. Over the past few months, the RNC has scored notable legal victories across key battleground states, focusing on preventing voter fraud and ensuring the integrity of the electoral process. These efforts come as the RNC continues to build momentum following the 2024 and ahead of the 2026 elections, determined to safeguard the vote and create fairer and more transparent election systems across the country.
In March alone, the RNC won three important legal battles related to election integrity in Arizona, Georgia, and Washington. In Arizona, a Court of Appeals ruled that Secretary of State Adrian Fontes had failed to properly follow the state’s rulemaking process when finalizing the 2023 Election Procedures Manual. This ruling, stemming from a lawsuit filed by the GOP in February, pointed to concerns that the manual weakened safeguards against non-citizen voting and made it easier to challenge early ballots.
Similarly, in Georgia, the RNC successfully intervened in a lawsuit filed by a local labor union that sought to extend the deadline for absentee ballot requests. The union argued that the deadline for absentee ballot requests—set at 11 days before the election—should be pushed further back. However, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia dismissed the union’s lawsuit, affirming the state’s absentee ballot rules and siding with the RNC in what was a major win for maintaining election deadlines and preventing undue influence on absentee voting procedures.
In Washington, the state’s Supreme Court ruled in favor of the RNC, affirming that the state’s signature verification law did not violate the state constitution. The case, which began in 2023, involved the RNC’s challenge to the state’s handling of signature verification, a critical aspect of ensuring election integrity. The ruling bolstered the RNC’s ongoing legal battle to maintain robust safeguards against fraudulent votes.
RNC Chairman Michael Whatley emphasized that these victories were just the beginning. “When I became RNC chairman last year, President Trump gave me a clear directive: secure the vote,” Whatley said in a statement. “We successfully did that in 2024, and we are already hard at work to do it again in 2026.” Whatley’s comments underscore the RNC’s commitment to continuing its legal and grassroots efforts to strengthen election security and safeguard the democratic process.
The RNC’s election integrity department is expanding its staff and resources, with an eye on addressing long-term legal battles. These efforts are not limited to major swing states but extend to states like Washington and Maryland, where the RNC is challenging problematic election laws and advocating for reforms.
The RNC has also ramped up its efforts on the ground, with a focus on training volunteers, poll watchers, and attorneys to monitor elections closely. This is part of a broader initiative that includes the “Protect The Vote Tour,” where the RNC prepares hundreds of thousands of individuals to identify suspicious activity at polling locations. This proactive approach has already resulted in the identification of thousands of potential election integrity issues, which were flagged and addressed before and on Election Day.
Beyond these grassroots efforts, the RNC is also pushing for federal legislation to bolster election security. The proposed SAVE Act, which would require individuals to prove they are U.S. citizens before voting in federal elections, is one example of the RNC’s legislative agenda to address ongoing concerns in the election system. The involvement of Speaker Mike Johnson and President Trump signals a growing momentum for election integrity reforms at the national level.
With legal victories already under its belt and a robust program for mobilizing voters and securing polling locations, the party is setting itself up for success in future cycles. The RNC is firmly committed to ensuring that elections are fair, transparent, and free from fraud, preparing for the challenges that lie ahead in 2026 and beyond.
