Footage taken by a Tesla Cybertruck of a Lexus LX driver appearing to pull a gun on him as the two drive down a road has gone viral. This incident comes in the wake of random acts of vandalism and even more aggressive moves made towards Tesla owners, with everyone on edge about things escalating further.
The footage shows a man in his newer Lexus LX speeding up alongside the all-electric truck, crossing over the lane line, slowing down, then speeding up and crossing the line again. It’s like the guy was trying to get the Tesla driver to do something aggressive, maybe as a pretense to him doing something even more aggressive back.
Finally, the Lexus driver pulls up window-to-window on the road, and points what many believe is a holstered handgun at the Cybertruck driver. It’s a shocking display of aggression, one that might be illegal.
This incident allegedly happened in Houston, Texas on March 28 but there are zero news stories about it, so that’s all been spread just via social media. In other words, that might not be accurate at all.
Still, we think the video appears authentic, not staged. While the Lexus driver might just be engaging in regular road rage, instead of freaking out over the supposed political ideology of the Cybertruck driver, even that alone is shocking enough to warrant attention.
After all, nobody should be pulling a firearm on someone else just because of some perceived slight on the road. Pointing a gun at someone else like this is a serious offense and we expect authorities are involved. The Lexus driver could be facing some serious legal consequences soon.
The original video posted to X was recently removed. We don’t know why it was taken down, but we assume the person who posted it was the one who removed it, for whatever reason.
If you ever find yourself getting frustrated at another driver on the road, slow down, take some deep breaths, and don’t engage in any exchange with the other person. Certainly don’t take out your gun and point it at them. Road rage is a serious problem we all need to work to dial back.

I lived in Orange County California from 1982 to 1991. During that time, there were incidents of road rage involving gun play on the freeways. The CHP was at a loss as to how to stop incidents from happening and it went on for quite a while. What makes it noteworthy was the response of the general public. After a few weeks, Bumper stickers began to appear with slogans such as “Cover me! I’m going to change lanes!” and Don’t shoot! I’m going as fast as I can!” Before long the reports of incidents became fewer and then died out. The people, basically laughed it to death which I thought was a beautiful thing. I t was a different world back then.
