Arizona Democratic Sen. Ruben Gallego is launching an effort to challenge a new Trump Administration immigration policy that could require many green card applicants to leave the United States and complete the process abroad.

According to a report from The Hill, Gallego is not only seeking to overturn the policy itself but is also pursuing a procedural strategy that could make it easier for Congress to reverse the change.

The dispute revolves around a recent U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) policy affecting how certain immigrants obtain lawful permanent residency.

PAUL’S DEFENSE BRIEF (PDB) – But they should – Growing concerns about the US relationship with NATO allies have spurred European officials to biweekly meetings about replacing US defense goods. But those intense discussions have highlighted that it wouldn’t be easy, fast or cheap.

Trump has insisted that European members of NATO must do more if the Alliance is to remain a US priority. Some allies have responded with fear and loathing as they try to interpret his intentions and next steps.

MEANWHILE – Even without its own nukes, Germany can co-finance European nuclear deterrence. With Trump’s turn away from Europe and NATO, the credibility of the U.S. nuclear promise has taken center stage.

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY – Here’s a roundup of today’s other top defense stories ending the week from conservative national security expert PAUL CRESPO.

Not the President’s Daily Brief, but almost as good – PAUL’S DEFENSE BRIEFING – the PDB:

NATIONAL SECURITY

“Strong concern.” The head of US Northern Command warned members of Congress today that auctioning off parts of the military’s electromagnetic spectrum to industry could negatively impact Trump’s Golden Dome initiative.

HOMELAND SECURITY

The Coast Guard on Guam is expecting at least two new cutters next year, expanding its operations as the service reprioritizes border security, even overseas.

The expanded military presence along the US southern border and at sea will probably continue for a couple of years, Northern Command’s senior officer told Congress.

Mexico’s security chief quietly forms an elite force to take on the drug cartels. Six years ago Mexico’s president disbanded the country’s Federal Police and handed security responsibilities to the military. Now, his successor has quietly begun to build a civilian investigative and special operations force to fight the drug cartels.

Just days since Trump signed an unprecedented ‘national security’ executive order aimed at stripping two-thirds of the federal workforce of their collective-bargaining rights, both the White House and federal employee unions are already trading lawsuits over it.

Russia will build eight nuclear multi-purpose and strategic submarines for the Navy, according to Putin, but the industry is strained.

IRAN THREAT/ISRAEL WARS

US attacks on Yemen are the latest deadly strikes against Houthi forces as the US deploys a second aircraft carrier and more warplanes to the Middle East.

Before Trump took office this January, many on his team didn’t think attacking the Houthis was such a good idea.

B-2 Spirits amassed on Diego Garcia underscore hardened aircraft shelter debate. The unprecedented stealth bomber deployment comes amid growing US threats to the regime in Tehran, as well as stepped-up strikes on their Houthi proxies in Yemen.

They’ve been getting far more from us than we get from them. Let them face Putin on their own for a while and see how they like paying.
Europe has been jealously anti american for a loooong time.

As a retired SFC, I have retired to a lovely place in hills of Western Washington over 150 miles from a military base. For years we have used a small pharmacy, close to us for our short tern drugs. We still us Express Scrips for long term drug use. The local pharmacy informed us they could no longer serve us as the composition from Tri-Care For Life was the lowest compositing insurance that they had to use to allow us to us their service.

Question: Why is Tri Care For Life the lowest compositing program for pharmacies in the industry? This seems like a poor care for those who put their lives on the line for this nation. Why are we treated worse than an undocumented person who broke the law to get into this country?
