A routine press conference quickly turned into a medical emergency this week when a Florida state senator suddenly collapsed while delivering remarks…
Republican Florida State Sen. Ileana Garcia appeared to faint during remarks alongside Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in Miami.
The incident occurred when Garcia addressed the crowd during a news conference for DeSantis’ ban on local governments from adding fluoride to public drinking water.
“Governor, forgive me, I’ve got to sit down because I’m not feeling well,” Garcia said before collapsing moments later.

According to The Daily Caller, Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo quickly caught Garcia before she could hit the ground, and President Donald Trump’s ex-wife, Marla Maples, also appeared to rush to her aid.
Ladapo could be heard calmly saying, “Hey, hey, hey, hey, we’ve got you, we’ve got you,” as he supported the senator.
Maples attended the news conference Tuesday, the Florida Phoenix reported.
Garcia was able to compose herself and continued her address during the press conference.
“Are you kidding, this was my moment. I could not,” she said. “Nerveracking, but this was my moment and I so appreciate your grace, Governor DeSantis.”
The crowd applauded, and Miami-Dade Commissioner Roberto Gonzalez praised Garcia’s resilience, according to footage from the outlet.
“Absolutely nothing is going to stop that woman from fighting for the people of Florida,” he said.
