Just how anti-gun and out of touch is the National Education Association (NEA), the largest labor union in the United States that represents public school teachers and other education professionals?
To get the answer to that question, look no further than NEA’s recent opposition to a measure before Congress that would allow law enforcement officers and retired law enforcement officers to carry guns across state lines—something we should all be able to do since the Second Amendment never mentioned anything about state boundaries.
At issue is HR 2243, the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Reform Act (LEOSA) of 2025. Not only is the NEA advocating for the bill to be killed, but the union is threatening lawmakers who support it.
“On behalf of the 3 million members of the National Education Association, educators who are committed to teaching, supporting, and protecting students across America, we ask you to vote NO on the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Reform Act (LEOSA) of 2025, H.R. 2243,” the group wrote in a letter to the U.S. House of Representatives. “Votes related to this legislation may be included in the NEA Report Card for the 119th Congress.
In reality, LEOSA would improve public safety by allowing qualified law enforcement officers who have committed themselves to our communities the opportunity to continue doing so by extending their concealed carry privileges. The legislation removes existing prohibitions and will allow trained professionals to respond quickly to emergencies, should they happen to be in public places such as shopping malls, school zones, mass transit and other restricted areas.
“The bipartisan LEOSA Reform Act offers real solutions to address threats such as terrorism and mass shootings by ensuring that our retired and off-duty law enforcement officers can exercise their right to concealed carry—no matter where they live or visit,” U.S. Rep. Don Bacon, R-Nebraska, said in a news release announcing the legislation. “These measured changes will make existing law stronger and more workable for those who seek its benefits while maintaining the rigorous standards that currently apply. I want to thank Rep. Henry Cuellar for his support of this important legislation.”
Most Americans would be glad to know that there’s an armed, trained law enforcement around should things go sideways. But not the die-hard gun-haters at the NEA.
“The LEOSA Reform Act will not make us safer,” the NEA letter continued. “The legislation will bring more guns to the places we gather by expanding the authority for active and retired law enforcement officers to carry concealed firearms across state lines, despite local laws.”
They say that as if it’s a bad thing. That’s because they believe guns in the hands of anybody are bad, and have a vision of the future that doesn’t take into account the violent criminals who constantly prey on law-abiding citizens.
“NEA members envision an America where families and communities are no longer shattered by gun violence,” the NEA letter concluded. “We can only attain this goal by enacting commonsense gun reforms and providing greater access to mental health resources to support those in need of intervention. Educators and students are leading the way through their fierce activism and courage, and we ask Congress to join with us by passing laws that will bring about real safety and true peace of mind.”
The measure has been approved by the House Judiciary Committee and is awaiting a vote on the House floor.

Look at the NEA sponsored worthless degrees that are pumped out to students who find them worthless in the job markets. Look at the National Disgrace of students saying they WILL NOT pay off their student loans, which are immune to bankrupty proceedings, Look at teachers who put activism, foreign superiority or recognition, and sexual preferences in their class rooms against the wishes of the majority of parents. Look at the fact they are pushing “don’t tell parents” what’s going on with regards to quasi sexually confused stundents. Priorities have been dropped and replaced from being able to read/comprehend, being able to do math and find and answer, being able to understand history and not make the same mistakes, accepting everyone for who and what they are to completely deteriorating racial and ethnic isolationism with current blame placed on todays population. The liberal left socialist structuer has been growing since the 1960’s taking a bit out of common since for the last 65 years and has become a bloated and worthless organization called the NEA, which protects the worst of the worst and keeps pusing agendas like a communist nation brain washes its citizens. Its no wonder American has become the disaster education wise that it has.
Every ones safety is what this is all about, but it should include EVERYONE with a CCW. There are two enemies of guns, rust, and politicians. Of the two, politicians are the worst!
