On Saturday evening, President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles in response to escalating protests over recent immigration enforcement actions. The protests were sparked by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids that resulted in the arrest of 44 individuals, including suspected gang members and national security threats. These operations led to widespread demonstrations, particularly in the city of Paramount, where confrontations between protesters and law enforcement turned violent, involving the use of tear gas and flash-bang grenades.

The decision to deploy the National Guard has intensified tensions between the federal government and California’s leadership. Governor Gavin Newsom criticized the move as “purposefully inflammatory,” warning that it could further erode public trust. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass condemned the ICE raids, stating that such tactics “sow terror in our communities.” Other Democrats were equally incensed.

According to FOX 5 San Diego, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth indicated that active-duty Marines at Camp Pendleton are on high alert and may be mobilized if violence continues. The Trump administration has emphasized a goal of conducting at least 3,000 migrant arrests daily and has threatened to withhold federal funding from California over its sanctuary policies and other disagreements:

Governor Newsom has been vocal Saturday, taking to X to push back against President Trump’s orders to deploy the state National Guard, saying, in part, “This is the wrong mission and will erode public trust. Never use violence. Speak out peacefully.”

While protestors and federal immigration authorities in riot gear continued to clash Saturday and tear gas and smoke filled the air on and off, the U.S. Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, posted on X Saturday night he was mobilizing the National Guard immediately to support federal law enforcement in Los Angeles, and placed active duty Marines at Camp Pendleton on high alert to be mobilized “if violence continues.”

Governor Newsom responded on X, saying, “the Secretary of Defense is now threatening to deploy active-duty Marines on American soil against its own citizens. This is deranged behavior.”

It began Friday when ICE and federal immigration authorities raided several businesses in the Los Angeles area and people took to the streets to push back. Large groups of protestors gathered near the site of the raids on Friday and again on Saturday.

Looks like official invasion with insurrection by communists now, does it not?

I think that protesters should be given the option of hopping on the planes with the illegals and going with them, if they love them that much. One scary thing is that these protesters probably don’t work and are on the dole, provided by us taxpayers.

These folks have broken the law. … and its time to stop this crap. … I am sorry but if your here illegally you have already broken out law. Strike one, if we catch you Strike two, and most will NOT be able to apply to legally return. 3. Hurt someone or get caught doing physical damage your going to one of our jails. Remember Portland with US Marchalls were attached and burned with major injuries, dems did nothing.;.. THAT CRAP IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN. Govenor or no governor, Mayor Bass should be removed from office, possibly arrested for interfering with federal law enforcement,

“Newsom and Bass prioritize illegals over California citizens”
That is because the corrupt Establishment Elites that are getting rich off the wet backs of illegals are getting richer and are their main source of financial support.
If the illegals did not get housing, food, medical and schooling paid for by our taxes, they would not come here.
If employers and public officials were prosecuted for aiding and harboring criminals, law & order would prevail, the deficit would go away and this would become the “Golden State” again.
