Goodbye and good riddance…
Swedish activist Greta Thunberg has been deported back to her native Sweden, a day after her “selfie yacht” aid ship was seized by Israel while on its way to Gaza after she “refused” to watch harrowing footage of the October 7 attack.
On June 9, 2025, Israeli naval forces intercepted the Madleen, a British-flagged vessel operated by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, which was attempting to breach the naval blockade of Gaza. Among the 12 activists on board were Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg and Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham. The ship, carrying a “symbolic amount” of humanitarian aid, was redirected to the Israeli port of Ashdod, where the passengers were detained.
The 59-foot boat included less than a single truckload of aid, while more than 1,200 aid trucks have entered Gaza over the last two weeks. The Trump administration-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation successfully delivered more than 8 million meals to Gazans since its operation began less than a month ago, according to the organization.
The Israel Foreign Ministry took to X to post photos of a sad-looking Thunberg aboard an airplane bound for her home country.
As the New York Post reported, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Monday that detained activists would be shown a 43-minute video titled Bearing Witness, which contains graphic footage of the Hamas attacks on Oct. 7, 2023. Katz said the measure is intended to expose the activists to the atrocities committed by Hamas, asserting that their actions amount to support for the terrorist organization:
“I congratulate the IDF for the quick and safe takeover of the ‘Madleen’ flotilla to prevent them from breaking the blockade and reaching the shores of Gaza,” Israel’s defense minister, Israel Katz, said on X.
“I instructed the IDF to show the flotilla passengers the video of the horrors of the October 7 massacre when they arrive at the port of Ashdod,” he wrote.
“It is appropriate that the anti-Semitic Greta and her fellow Hamas supporters see exactly who the Hamas terrorist organization they came to support and for whom they work is, what atrocities they committed against women, the elderly, and children, and against whom Israel is fighting to defend itself,” he explained.
Following Thunberg’s arrest, a prerecorded video message of her was released, where she said she was “kidnapped” by the IDF.
“If you see this video, we have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters,” she said. “I urge all of my friends, family and comrades to put pressure on the Swedish government to release me and the others as soon as possible.”
In a press briefing Monday, Israeli government spokesman David Mencer said Thunberg gave “a new definition to the word chutzpah.”
“In more than 20 months, Greta has not found one single moment to call for the release of our hostages, not one single moment, and she has the chutzpah to say that she has been kidnapped,” Mencer said. “Greta will be returned back to her home country very, very shortly with the firm message that [this] isn’t a music festival, it’s a warzone.”
“This was a PR stunt sailing under the flag of moral vanity,” Mencer said. “We won’t allow a dangerous precedent to dock at our shores. Letting this selfie yacht dock in Gaza would open the floodgates for Iran-backed terror, for extremists worldwide and for every pseudo activist chasing headlines.”
President Donald Trump offered advice to Thunberg on Monday following her detention.
“Well she’s a strange person,” Trump said at a White House event. “She’s a young, angry person. I don’t know if it’s real anger, it’s hard to believe actually, but I saw what happened. She’s certainly different, anger management. I think she has to go to an anger management class. That’s my primary recommendation for her.”

But in the end it is shame on anyone who encourages the stupid ones. At least the gal from Sweden really is challenged. The others are just plain stupid and with no good excuse. Of course a serious one on one with all of them might prove that assumption wrong, they all might be truly challenged. Who knows?
