Late in the afternoon on June 10, 2025, ABC News confirmed that senior national correspondent Terry Moran will not return to the network following a controversial social media post. In the now-deleted message, Moran described White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller as a “world-class hater” and made similar remarks about President Donald Trump. The network stated that Moran’s comments violated its standards of objectivity and impartiality, initially leading to his suspension pending further evaluation.

ABC News, the same outlet that rigged the debate against Trump before the 2024 election, accused Moran of not being "fair."

The Hollywood Reporter has additional details:
“We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post — which was a clear violation of ABC News policies — we have made the decision to not renew,” an ABC News spokesperson said. “At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism.”
In suspending Moran — which happened after White House officials publicly demanded action from the network — ABC News said it “does not condone subjective personal attacks on others.”
The incident sparked significant backlash from the Trump administration. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt labeled Moran’s remarks as “unhinged and unacceptable,” and Vice President JD Vance called the comments an “absolutely vile smear,” urging ABC to issue an apology to Miller.
Moran, who had been with ABC News since 1997, has held various prominent roles, including chief White House correspondent and co-anchor of Nightline.
