An unexpected team…
Republican Congressman Thomas Massie (Ky.) is joining forces with the progressive “Squad” to resist the United States’ involvement in the conflict between Israel and Iran.
“This is not our war. But if it were, Congress must decide such matters according to our Constitution,” Massie said in a social media post announcing the War Powers Resolution that he introduced with Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna (Calif.) on Tuesday.
Massie, whom President Trump threatened to primary during the House GOP megabill negotiations, invited “all members of Congress to cosponsor this resolution.” By Tuesday night, the bipartisan bill had picked up 27 cosponsors, including “Squad” members Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.) and Ilhan Omar (Minn.)
The bill’s original co-sponsors also include progressive Democrat Reps. Pramila Jayapal, Summer Lee, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib, who called it unconstitutional for “Trump to go to war without a vote in Congress.” (RELATED: Trump Furious Over Top Aide’s Nuclear Video Misstep)
I look forward to supporting this War Powers Resolution. The American people aren't falling for it again. We were lied to about "weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq that killed millions + forever changed lives.

It's unconst'l for Trump to go to war without a vote in Congress. https://t.co/PJbtMtfwda
Massie’s War Powers Resolution would “remove United States Armed Forces from unauthorized hostilities in the Islamic State of Iran” and direct Trump to “terminate” the deployment of American troops against Iran without an “authorized declaration of war or specific authorization for use of military forces against Iran.”
Lawmakers opposed to U.S. involvement in the escalating Middle East conflict are raising alarms about the constitutionally ambiguous path Trump may take in striking Iran without congressional approval. Under U.S. law, the president can order limited strikes without prior approval — such as in response to an imminent threat against U.S. forces — or act under existing statutory authorizations like the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF), which continues to justify American military operations abroad. “The American people do not want to be dragged into another disastrous conflict in the Middle East. I’m proud to lead this bipartisan War Powers Resolution with Rep. Massie to reassert that any military action against Iran must be authorized by Congress,” Rep. Khanna said.
Across the political aisle, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) signaled her support, writing that Americans want an affordable cost of living, safe communities, and quality education — not “another foreign war.”
Americans want cheap gas, groceries, bills, and housing.

They want affordable insurance, safe communities, and good education for their children.
They want a government that works on these issues.
Considering Americans pay for the entire government and government salaries…
The president told reporters on Wednesday morning that he is weighing whether to sign off on military strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities. (RELATED: Military Strike Approved — Why Hasn’t It Launched?)
“Yes, I may do it. I may not do it. I mean, nobody knows what I’m going to do,” Trump said.
Trump called for Iran’s “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” on Truth Social on Tuesday, and said the United States won’t strike Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei “at least not for now,” but signaled America’s “patience is wearing thin.”

President Trump has demonstrated throughout his entire time in the White House he does not wrecklessly pursue foreign wars or entanglements. So he does not need to be leashed, especially by morons like the squad and now their 5th member Massie. The real Republicans in the House, better stop this nonsense in it’s tracks. We need that uranium enrichment plant in Forda to be leveled and if the only way to do that is to use the MOAB, and Israel does not have an aircraft that can carry it, then President Trump should send over the B2 that can do it.
There is an old saying that says, “Those people that fail to study history are doomed to repeat it”. It should be quite evident that those members of Congress that are trying to draw-up a resolution to prevent Mr. Trump from using the Executive Emergency War Power authority to make war on an entity who is a threat to national safety and security haven’t studied their history as well as their civics lessons. The President has the powers in an emergency to make war on a nation, like Iran, who has openly stated one of their goals is to not only eliminate Israel completely but even more relevant to the U.S.A., is the stated fact they want to eliminate America as well. This is just not rhetoric but this countries theocracy driven government believes it is their religious destiny to destroy what they call the little Satan (Israel) and the big Satan (America). Iran fully intends to develop a nuclear weapon that they can use to accomplish those goals, They are never going to ever tell us the truth to whether or not they have stopped enriching Uranium to weapons grade Uranium. Iran’s leaders hope we are stupid enough to believe them when they lie to us that they have stopped enriching Uranium to the point it is weaponized or the lie that they are only enriching enough Uranium to the point it can be used for powering nuclear power generators. We have been playing this game with Iran to long and we can’t afford to keep on kicking the can down the road. I don’t want out country to pay the price the hard way for the lesson these Congressmen refuse to learn. I don’t want to wake some morning in the near future to find out that not only multiple cities in Israel have been destroyed by nuclear weapons but also to find out that multiple cities in the U.S. have been destroyed by nuclear weapons deployed by Iran. Most of the people in Congress opposed to stopping Iran’s nuclear program are supposedly Woke. Ironically they haven’t yet woke up to the reality of what Iran is trying to do.
It may not be our was but Israel is our ally and we are obligated to support it.
Yet U support Biden forever wars right
Dropping probably no fewer that five bunker busters does not constitute us joining a war with the Israelis. Iran has killed MINIMUM of a little over 700 Americans in Iraq. More than that from sponsors over the last 50 years by that regime. It is time to end that regime and put the 85% of the SANE Iranians in charge. All the US would be doing is ending the nuclear blackmail that would happen if allowed to continue and paying them back for the things they have done without repayment from us. You can negotiate all you want with them. Do you really think they would do what they agree to do?
