Early Thursday morning, roughly a dozen Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) vans and agents in tactical gear attempted to enter the Dodger Stadium parking areas via Gate E. However, the Dodgers organization denied them entry, asserting control over the lots.

Though portions of the land technically remain under the ownership of former team owner Frank McCourt, the Dodgers retain full operational control. The team confirmed that Thursday night’s matchup against the San Diego Padres will proceed as scheduled.

“This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots. They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization. Tonight’s game will be played as scheduled,” the Dodgers’ official account posted on X. (RELATED: Trump Authorizes Major Immigration Action Amid Rising Tensions)

According to KNBC, Los Angeles City Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez — who was in the crowd — called on the team and Mayor Karen Bass to ensure ICE agents were fully removed from the property, which they appeared to intend to use as a staging area. Demonstrators gathered outside the stadium chanting “ICE out of LA!” — part of the ongoing unrest against federal immigration enforcement in the region. The demonstrations follow a series of recent ICE raids that have sparked backlash from progressive activists and local organizers.

KNBC continues:

Immigration enforcement operations reported around Southern California sparked days of protests this month in Los Angeles and other communities. The Department of Homeland Security has said the operations, including ICE raids at businesses, will continue as part of the Trump administration’s mass deportation plan, a central promise of his presidential campaign.

WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE

President Donald Trump said Sunday in a social media post that he has directed federal immigration authorities to expand operations in Los Angeles and other cities.

The administration has highlighted arrests involving undocumented individuals with violent crime convictions. Those who have been caught up in the nationwide raids include asylum seekers, people who overstayed their visas and migrants awaiting their day in immigration court.

The vast majority of resulting protests have been in part of downtown Los Angeles near federal buildings, including a federal detention center. Marines and federalized National Guard troops were sent to LA by the Trump administration over objections from state and local leaders.

At the same time, the Dodgers are facing renewed pressure from the left over separate but related political controversies. Critics cite a prior incident involving singer Nezza, who said the team discouraged her from singing the national anthem in Spanish — a request she refused to follow. The organization has also come under scrutiny for initially remaining silent on an immigration-related community program.

At least one Dodger — utility player Kiké Hernández — posted a message of solidarity with ICE protesters on Instagram, expressing support for immigrant communities and reaffirming their rights. Hernández has previously spoken out in favor of immigration reform and workers’ protections.

Violate US law to enter this country and by default that makes one a criminal, this is not rocket science it is a criminal statute not a civil statue. Criminal aliens are, by virtue of their illegal entry, ineligible to become US Citizens, there is NO path to citizenship. I have no sympathy for those that violate laws to enter, do it IAW US law or GET OUT.

Well, they left New York without a Thank you, maybe they will sucker punch LA and the rest of the Country. They had to know something like this would happen after all the LA protest. Guess they just thought they were above the law or just thought they were untouchables.

Well, that’s the last time I root for the LA Dodgers. I’m old enough to have seen the Dodgers play in Brooklyn.
