White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is pushing back hard on claims Democrats were kept in the dark…
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt forced both CNN and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to walk back claims that President Trump failed to notify Democratic leaders ahead of Saturday’s U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites.
Appearing on Fox News, Leavitt said the White House made courtesy calls to congressional leadership before the strikes. According to her, Schumer was successfully reached, while House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries did not answer but was later briefed.

Turns out both Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries were called.
Jeffries didn’t pick up.pic.twitter.com/EfNSc2wzUj
As reported by the Independent Journal Review:
“The White House made calls to congressional leadership, they were bipartisan calls. In fact, Hakeem Jeffries couldn’t be reached, we tried him before the strike and he did not pick up the phone, but he was briefed after, as well as Chuck Schumer was briefed before prior to the strike,” Leavitt said. “So this notion that CNN ran with that the White House did not give a heads-up to Democrats is just completely false. In fact, both Senator Schumer’s office and CNN had to retract that story last night, because it was a blatant lie and we showed them the timestamps from those phone calls.”
CNN’s web page ,where the article initially reported that Democrats had not been informed of the strike, shows a correction at the top of the story. Leavitt had called for a correction in a Sunday post on X.
“This is Fake News,” Leavitt posted. “The White House made bipartisan courtesy calls to Congressional Leadership and spoke to @SenSchumer before the strike. @RepJeffries could not be reached until after, but he was briefed. @CNN please retract.”
This is Fake News.

Despite the clarifications, Democratic leaders including Schumer and Jeffries continue to criticize Trump for not seeking congressional authorization before launching military action. They argue that the president’s unilateral move sidestepped constitutional protocols and heightened the risk of escalation in the Middle East.
Notably, there is no record of either Schumer or Jeffries objecting to then-President Barack Obama’s 2011 military intervention in Libya on similar constitutional grounds.

💥 Message to the Media: Karoline’s fight is OUR fight. We stand for America. 💥

I wouldn’t tell those liars a damn thing, there’s a good chance they would warn the enemy. They are already looking like the “domestic enemy” our founders warned us about.
IN ADDITION, the Democrats in Congress KNEW for DAYS that Trump was about to make a decision on using bunker-busters in Iran. There was NOTHING stopping them from proposing that Congress authorize or oppose this action. But what did they do? They did nothing! Apparently, all they really wanted was the ability to complain after the fact.
Sounds like certain entities used this incident to try to cause bad press for DJT – of course those same folks are suffering from TDS so it’s not surprising. The only question is was it due to incompetence or bad intent?
I would not have briefed anyone who I did not trust 100%. I most certainly would not have briefed those two.
