Openly attacking the system that made America great…
During a Thursday night CNN interview, New York City mayoral candidate and Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani — a self-described democratic socialist — was asked point-blank by anchor Erin Burnett whether he supports capitalism. His answer: “No. I have many critiques of capitalism.”

The remark has ignited fierce backlash across the political spectrum.
Mamdani defended his position by invoking Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., stating, “Call it democracy or call it democratic socialism; there must be a better distribution of wealth for all of God’s children in this country.”
Unsurprisingly, the comment drew sharp responses. President Donald Trump blasted Mamdani as a “100% Communist Lunatic”, while others questioned his fitness to lead the nation’s largest city.
As Mediaite reports:
Mamdani ran on a platform that included policies like freezing rent-stabilized rates, instituting state-run grocery stores, and free bus services. His platform also raised eyebrows this week for a line that included wanting to “Shift the tax burden from overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods.”
Critics were quick to pounce on Mamdani, who would run the financial center of the United States should he win in November.
Never-Trump leader Heath Mayo, replied, “Good grief. Someone ask Mamdani for a single example where “not capitalism” has led to freedom and prosperity. The response to Trumpism needs to be a total rejection of cronyism and corruption and a recommitment to the rule of law, enterprise, and individual rights—not this.”

Mamdani’s statement comes just days after his upset victory over former Governor Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primary — a result that stunned the party establishment and rattled Wall Street.
As the general election approaches, Mamdani’s unapologetic embrace of democratic socialism and his vocal criticism of capitalism are expected to dominate the political debate. He now faces Democrat-turned-independent incumbent Eric Adams and Republican long shot Curtis Sliwa in one of the most ideologically charged mayoral races in American history.
🚨 REPORT: Muslim socialist Zohran Mamdani's odds of winning are looking GREAT as Republican Curtis Sliwa REFUSES to drop out

One plan going around is for Sliwa to drop out to clear up 20%-30% of the vote for ERIC ADAMS to absorb it
But Sliwa is insistent, per NYP.

President Trump needs to invoke the Communist Control Act of 1954. Under this LAW Mamdani can be stripped of his citizenship and deported back to his home country. He is truly committing sedition by professing to make NYC a communist city and defying the President of the United States and our laws.
I’ve been waiting for years for these so-called “Socialists” to openly declare themselves “Communists”. It’s been like the unspoken word in politics and the one that makes a candidate persona non grata. It’s about time that these people are being called what they really are. The AOC group and our beloved Vermont senator use the term “Socialist” , or “Democratic Socialist”…but we all know what they mean. The big question is…will the Democrat Party continue to allow Socialists (and Communists, it seems) to run on their party lines? For them to keep doing it is just another signal that the Democrat Party has gone so far left that they can’t even be considered a party that supports democracy and capitalism any longer. The danger for us all is that, if these individuals win a nomination (like we are seeing in NYC), too many people blindly go and vote Democrat without realizing just who they are voting for. These candidates masquerade as Democrats with the “blessing” of the Democrat Party. When will Democrats speak up about this, or are they so in lock-step (as are Communists), that they are afraid to speak out, which then makes it seem that Democrat politicians are perfectly accepting of the “Socialist” label that they are assuming?
Mamdani is not worried. Low info Democrat voters and the MSM have already heard what they need to hear. Hate Trump, tax the rich, stop price gouging on groceries, free stuff for the “oppressed.” Of course, his Govt run stores will bankrupt hundreds of small businesses. But Dems already paint small business owners as heartless pirates, who just steal community resources. It’s not like they provide jobs or pay taxes or anything, ya know?
That attitude prevailed in Ferguson MO years ago. A black owned small business (athletic shoes, such) was looted and burned during the Michale Brown riots. That destroyed the income of the owner. He took the insurance settlement, paid off business expenses, and moved away. Local black leaders ranted against him, because he didn’t stay and rebuild on the same spot. “Look! He was only stealing resources. He took that money out of the community!” Of course, those same leaders had fanned the flames of the violence.
Heath Mayo is just out of touch. We all saw Democrats and the MSM gush about the word salads of Kammie Harris, as she preached most of the same things. Low info Dems and the MSM are thrilled with Mamdani.
Even if Sliwa gets elected, he cannot single-handedly overcome NY’s no cash bail and sanctuary laws.
