A newly released report sheds light on the wide range of salaries among employees in the Trump White House, revealing a pay scale that spans from a modest $59,070 on the lower end to as high as $225,700 for the highest-paid staffer. The data provides a glimpse into the administration’s inner workings and compensation practices, which include a small number of individuals who decline salaries altogether.
At the base of the scale, 108 employees earn between $59,000 and $80,000 annually. These positions generally include junior staff and support roles essential to the day-to-day operations of the White House.

Salaries rise notably for specialized positions such as speechwriters, who receive compensation ranging from $92,500 to $121,500, reflecting the strategic importance of presidential messaging.
At the very top of the pay ladder stands Jacalynne Klopp, a senior adviser who is the sole recipient of the maximum salary of $225,700. Following closely is Edgar Mkrtchian, an associate counsel, who earns $203,645.
The next tier includes a group of 33 influential figures, each earning $195,200. This group features many of the administration’s most prominent voices and policy architects, demonstrating the critical nature of their roles.

Notably, eight individuals listed in the report do not receive salaries from the White House at all. This choice often stems from their concurrent positions elsewhere in government or private resources.

Among them, Secretary of State Marco Rubio stands out. In addition to his cabinet duties, he also serves as the national security adviser but does not receive a separate White House paycheck for this role. Another example is Steve Witkoff, who operates as a special envoy and receives his compensation through the State Department instead.
While the report does not include details on President Trump’s pay, it is important to note that his salary is determined by federal law. As president, Trump is entitled to a base salary of $400,000, plus a $50,000 expense allowance, $100,000 designated for travel, and $19,000 for entertainment.
In keeping with his earlier term, Trump has stated that he will donate his presidential salary to government agencies throughout his current tenure.
