Actor Sean Gunn, who stars in the upcoming Superman film directed by his brother James Gunn, made waves this week when he declared that critics of mass immigration — and by extension, critics of the film’s political messaging — are “not American.”
In comments that perfectly echo the Hollywood elite’s out-of-touch worldview, Gunn told Variety that “if you don’t like immigrants, then you are not American,” before adding, “People who say no to immigrants are against the American way. That is what the American dream is all about.”
What Gunn didn’t mention is that the United States already admits over a million legal immigrants per year, and that the ongoing border crisis has introduced millions more illegal entrants, straining communities, hospitals, schools, and law enforcement across the country.
The Superman reboot is already raising eyebrows not just for its politicized messaging but also for its rebranding of the iconic character. Once known for standing for “Truth, Justice, and the American Way,” Superman’s classic motto is being quietly edited.
Lead actor David Corenswet, who plays Superman, couldn’t even recite the original phrase in a recent interview. Instead, he awkwardly replaced it with: “Truth, justice, and… good things.”
This erasure of patriotic themes has become par for the course in modern Hollywood, where even America’s most iconic fictional heroes are being rewritten to match progressive narratives.
Director James Gunn confirmed the political nature of the new film, telling the Sunday Times the film will emphasize Superman as an immigrant and focus on “basic human kindness,” something he says the world has “lost.”
“Superman is the story of America,” he said. “An immigrant that came from other places and populated the country.”
But while the director insists his vision is “the story of America,” many Americans see it as just another ideological hijacking of beloved characters — especially from an industry increasingly out of touch with the everyday concerns of working families.
If trends are any indicator of what’s in store, the reimagined classic won’t fare well at the box office. Following Disney’s catastrophic Snow White remake, a film that courted controversy long before its release with its overtly “woke” casting and rejection of traditional storytelling.
The film was plagued with negative publicity from the start, especially after lead actress Rachel Zegler publicly mocked the original movie, calling the Prince “a stalker” and suggesting the story was outdated and needed fixing.
The result? A box office flop of historic proportions, forcing Disney to drastically recalibrate its strategy and write down losses.
Critics and audiences alike slammed the movie for putting politics before storytelling, with many viewers tuning out long before the film even hit theaters.
Now, DC Studios seems poised to repeat Disney’s mistake — pushing a political narrative that alienates its core audience in favor of isolated applause from progressive enclaves.
Once again, Hollywood elites like Sean Gunn are dismissing millions of Americans as “un-American” simply for holding different views on one of the most pressing issues of our time.
If Snow White was a warning, Superman may be Hollywood’s next expensive lesson in why Americans are tired of being preached to by those who don’t seem to understand them.

Hollywood morons.
Talks like a COMMUNIST OPERATIVE!! DISGUSTING MAN! Hollywood LOVES HIM!
There is a reason that the lefties refuse to acknowledge the difference between LEGAL immigrants – who obey the law and follow the rules to gain entry – and those who refuse to do so or enable them. If anyone hasn’t figured that out by now there is no hope of educating them
Americans are not against immigration. It’s against ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. Every country in the world must screen potential immigrants in order to keep the “ bad guys” out. The media always leaves the key word “illegal “ out when talking about immigration. The media appears to do that , because it creates controversy and that is their real objective. It’s irresponsible reporting, but they don’t seem to want to make that clarification. In doing so, people get the idea that America is oppressed to anyone coming to America. That simply is not true. We always want immigrants who will be upstanding citizens, not those who rape, murder and just come here to live off of hard working Americans .
