A CBS News investigation is raising new questions about the integrity of surveillance footage released by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI from the night Jeffrey Epstein died in his Manhattan jail cell in 2019. While the official cause of death remains suicide by hanging, forensic analysts and digital experts are challenging key elements of the video’s authenticity.
The video released by federal authorities appears to be a screen recording rather than a direct export from the jail’s DVR system. Analysts noted the presence of an on-screen cursor and a visible menu overlay — features that should not exist in unaltered surveillance footage. Additionally, metadata indicates the file was stitched together from two separate segments and encoded in May 2025, raising further concerns about its authenticity.
And that’s just scratching the surface.
Despite claims by DOJ and FBI that the camera captured all movement into and out of Epstein’s Special Housing Unit (SHU), the CBS review shows large parts of the staircase and cell entrance are outside the camera’s field of view, calling into question assertions that no one could have entered unrecorded.

The released file also shows a time jump at 11:58 p.m., skipping one minute to midnight, and irregular changes in the aspect ratio.
People magazine goes on to say:
The report also calls into question the government’s explanation of an orange shape seen moving up the stairs the night of Epstein’s death.
CBS reported that the inspector general determined that the shape was a correctional officer carrying linen or inmate clothing.
However, forensic video experts told CBS that shape could have been a person in an orange prison jumpsuit.
At approximately 10:40 p.m., surveillance footage shows an orange-colored figure ascending the stairs toward Jeffrey Epstein’s cell. While federal investigators initially identified the individual as a corrections officer carrying linens, experts say the figure more closely resembles a person wearing an orange prison jumpsuit — a detail that directly contradicts official accounts.
“Based on the limited video, it’s more likely it’s a person in an [orange] uniform,” retired NYPD sergeant and forensic video expert Conor McCourt told CBS.
As I’ve said for weeks, the prison camera video released by DOJ did not show Epstein’s cell, OR even the stairway to his wing. (Great graphic by CBS News worth watching) https://t.co/P9SgNrppH4 pic.twitter.com/3a3e91d9vj

The Justice Department’s Office of the Inspector General acknowledged CBS’ review but stated that none of the reported inconsistencies alter its conclusions or recommendations. The OIG renewed its official finding that Epstein’s death was a suicide and attributed any irregularities to chronic staffing shortages and faulty surveillance infrastructure.
Meanwhile, a government source familiar with the investigation claimed that the original, unedited surveillance footage — including the so-called “missing minute” — is in the possession of the FBI, Department of Justice, and Bureau of Prisons. However, the full video remains unavailable to the public and independent forensic experts.
While the CBS investigation does not overturn the ruling that Epstein died by suicide, it raises fresh concerns about the transparency and reliability of the official account. Despite continued denials from the DOJ and FBI, the report is expected to intensify public scrutiny and fuel renewed demands for full disclosure.

Epstein was silently murdered as ordered by those who he had the goods on him, call it deep state if you will. You have to imagine that Hillary may have been the one who pulled the trigger since she is supposedly so use to doing it on now well over a hundred other people she found as a threat. Imagine that, all your enemies die off before they can testify or present evidence against the Clintons. How often does that happen in the criminal world, with other than a Mafia style organization? If yor around Hillary keep your back to the wall and watch every move she makes.
