A 27-year-old Brooklyn woman — once a youth organizer for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and state Sen. Julia Salazar — is facing serious charges after allegedly urging violence against a public high school with a large Jewish student population.
The suspect, Iman Abdul, shared a Google Maps image of Leon M. Goldstein High School for the Sciences in Manhattan Beach with her 25,000 Instagram followers, pairing it with a caption laced with slurs and urging an attack: “If anyone needs a public school in NYC to attack for whatever reason … Lexus-driving Israhell-loving Zionists all attend here.” The post also mocked Jewish student programs like Birthright Israel in derogatory terms.
Abdul now faces multiple charges, including making a terroristic threat, acting in a manner injurious to a child, aggravated harassment, and threat of mass harm.
The NYPD’s Intelligence Bureau and Commissioner Jessica Tisch were alerted to the post, leading to Abdul’s arrest within hours. Jewish advocacy groups condemned the threats as hateful and dangerous, citing the school’s student body as a potential target.
The New York Post has additional details:
The watchdog group StopAntisemitism shared the post on X and accused Abdul of “inviting people to attack a Jewish school,” although Goldstein HS is a secular NYC public school.
“This incitement against Jews, specifically minor children, must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the group declared.

Abdul doubled down in a direct message to StopAntisemitism on her Instagram account @theinmxnabdul.
“I never called for an attack on the school in the sense of mass organization or not even individual people attacking individuals, that’s literally stupid,” she wrote in a word-salad response. “I called for an attack on the school, the Zionist institution funded by our public dollars … we have every right to verbally attack the school.”
Leon M. Goldstein High School, situated on the Kingsborough Community College campus, is a secular public institution with about 1,000 students. It offers programs connected to Jewish culture, including an Israel Club. The incident has intensified concerns over antisemitism and targeted threats in schools.
In response, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign office denounced the alleged comments and stressed that Abdul had no formal staff role, calling the posts “horrible” and unequivocally condemning threats of violence.
