A body wrapped in plastic was discovered in the front trunk — or “frunk” — of a 2023 Tesla at a Hollywood tow yard after employees reported a foul odor coming from the vehicle.
The Tesla had been impounded for about five days before the discovery. It is registered to David Anthony Burke, better known as D4vd, a 20-year-old singer currently on a world tour. He’s best known for the hits Here With Me and Romantic Homicide.
Sources told TMZ the body was dismembered and badly decomposed.
Meanwhile, D4vd is set to take the stage Tuesday in Minneapolis … all a part of his world tour that kicked off last month.
The 20-year-old has quickly emerged as a rising star …. with hits like “Here With Me” and “Romantic Homicide” each racking up over a billion streams. He also boasts millions of followers across social media.
We reached out to a rep for D4vd … so far, no word back. D4vd posted something on social Monday, so given the car was at the tow yard for several days, it would appear the body is not that of the singer.
The Los Angeles Police Department is treating the case as a death investigation. No suspects have been identified at this time, and authorities have not confirmed whether foul play was involved. The medical examiner is expected to determine the official cause of death.
According to officials, D4vd has not been directly linked to the incident, though he remains a person of interest. Investigators are also exploring the possibility that someone else may have accessed or used the vehicle without authorization.

It’s his car and he’s only a person of interest? The body is dismembered, but the authorities have not determined if foul play was involved?? What alternate universe did these authorities arrive from?
A dismembered and badly decomposed body found in the trunk of an impounded car, and they have not confirmed whether foul play was involved. Hmmm. I guess it’s possible the person climbed into the trunk and dismembered themself.
