Arizona Democratic Sen. Ruben Gallego is launching an effort to challenge a new Trump Administration immigration policy that could require many green card applicants to leave the United States and complete the process abroad.

According to a report from The Hill, Gallego is not only seeking to overturn the policy itself but is also pursuing a procedural strategy that could make it easier for Congress to reverse the change.

The dispute revolves around a recent U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) policy affecting how certain immigrants obtain lawful permanent residency.

As the country continues to reel from the assassination of conservative firebrand Charlie Kirk, shock has turned to outrage following the revelation that a current Secret Service agent publicly celebrated Kirk’s death — calling it “karma.”

Agent Anthony Pough, identified by Real Clear Politics, said in a now-viral Facebook post, “If you are mourning this guy… delete me. He spewed hate and racism on his show.”

“At the end of the day, you answer to GOD… You can only circumvent karma, she doesn’t leave.”

The post, now circulating internally through the Secret Service community, has reportedly shaken agents to the core. “If that’s all it takes to set you off, that’s dangerous to have around,” one anonymous source told RCP.

Pough, not currently assigned to presidential detail, has been placed on administrative leave and is facing termination, sources confirmed to Breitbart News. But the damage is done — the agency is already under intense scrutiny after the failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump last year in Pennsylvania.

Meanwhile, another American institution came under threat Thursday.

The U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, was placed on lockdown amid reports of an active shooter on campus. Witnesses say a former midshipman, expelled from the academy, returned armed and impersonating military police — even knocking on dorm room doors before shots rang out.

Fox News’ Bret Baier reported at least one individual was airlifted from the scene with “potentially life-threatening injuries.” Law enforcement has not confirmed casualties, but multiple victims are being assessed.

“Naval Support Activity Annapolis is currently responding to threats made to the Naval Academy,” Lt. Naweed Lemar said in a statement. “The base is on lockdown out of an abundance of caution.” Police continue to search for the suspect.

And finally, international tension is on the rise.

In a bold statement, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the United States “will respond” to the 27-year prison sentence handed down to Brazil’s former President Jair Bolsonaro, convicted Thursday of “attempting to orchestrate a coup after losing the 2022 election.”

Rubio condemned what he called a “witch hunt” by Brazil’s Supreme Court, specifically targeting Judge Alexandre de Moraes — whom the U.S. Treasury had already sanctioned for alleged human rights violations.

“The United States will respond accordingly to this witch hunt,” Rubio posted on X.

President Trump, a longtime ally of Bolsonaro, compared the conviction to his own legal battles: “I thought he was a good president of Brazil, and it’s very surprising that could happen very much like they tried to do with me.”

Rubio has already moved to revoke visas for Brazilian justices involved in the case, and Bolsonaro’s son, Congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro, anticipates more sanctions, warning judges to tread carefully: “If they keep following Moraes, they run the risk of facing the same sanction.”
