Shout Your Abortion is promoting a new children’s book that describes abortion as a “superpower,” according to the group’s website. The book, titled Abortion Is Everything, was written for children ages five to eight and is scheduled to begin shipping in January 2026.
A description of the book on the organization’s site says it explains “what abortion is, how it might feel, and why people have abortions.” The description states that the book uses “accessible, inclusive language” and frames abortion as “the actualization of a uniquely human superpower: our capacity to imagine the future and make choices that lead us towards the life we envision.” It further describes abortion as “a tool that allows human beings to shape our destinies, and which has shaped the entire world around us.”
According to the description, the book is intended as a resource for “parents, caregivers, and educators” who want a tool for discussing abortion with children amid increased public debate over the issue.
Abortion Is Everything is written by artist and educator Rachel Kessler and activist Amelia Bonow and illustrated by Emily Nokes. The book features brightly colored, watercolor-style artwork designed to appeal to young readers. The organization’s description says the book “introduces the concept of abortion in a way that empowers parents and kids to begin rewriting our cultural scripts about abortion at the most foundational level.”

Shout Your Abortion announced Friday that donors contributing $100 or more to its year-end campaign will receive a signed hardcover copy of the book.
Founded in 2016, Shout Your Abortion describes its mission as normalizing abortion and “eradicat[ing] stigma.” The group’s “About Us” page encourages abortion-rights activists to “build a collective that is committed to aiding and abetting abortion—in the form of elevating resources, funding abortions, sharing information about pills, and saving independent clinics.”
