Arizona Democratic Sen. Ruben Gallego is launching an effort to challenge a new Trump Administration immigration policy that could require many green card applicants to leave the United States and complete the process abroad.

According to a report from The Hill, Gallego is not only seeking to overturn the policy itself but is also pursuing a procedural strategy that could make it easier for Congress to reverse the change.

The dispute revolves around a recent U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) policy affecting how certain immigrants obtain lawful permanent residency.

A 21-year-old woman has been arrested in Texas after allegedly breaking into the Comal County Republican Party headquarters and attempting to set the building on fire.

Grace Carol Brown, 21, was taken into custody Thursday by the New Braunfels Police Department and charged with arson and burglary. According to a Friday police release, employees arriving at the Comal County Republican Party headquarters discovered a broken window and a small fire inside the building.

The New Braunfels Fire Marshal and the FBI assisted local law enforcement in the investigation.

Texas Republican Party Chairman Abraham George condemned the attack and praised authorities for their swift response.

“The Republican Party of Texas condemns the criminal break-in and fire targeting the Comal County Republican Party headquarters in New Braunfels. Acts like this are troubling and should concern all who value peaceful civic engagement,” George said in a statement provided to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Sadly, this incident is not isolated. Similar acts of vandalism and intimidation against political organizations have occurred in other parts of the country, underscoring a growing and unacceptable trend. Violence and intimidation have no place in our communities or in our democratic process, and those responsible must be held fully accountable.”

George emphasized that no one was harmed during the incident.

“We thank God that no one was injured and that the damage to the building was limited,” he said. “We are grateful to the New Braunfels Police Department for their swift response and continued commitment to upholding the rule of law, and we are thankful for the leadership of Comal County Republican Party Chairwoman Anita Valdez during this difficult time.”

Republican National Committee Chairman Joe Gruters pointed to increasingly hostile political rhetoric as a contributing factor.

“Democrats’ disgusting rhetoric has led to another violent attack,” Gruters posted on X. “Thankfully, no one was hurt during this attack on Comal County’s GOP headquarters.”

The New Braunfels incident follows a series of attacks and attempted attacks on Republican Party offices nationwide since President Donald Trump took office in January 2025, raising concerns among Republicans about politically motivated violence and selective outrage.

In March 2025, the New Mexico Republican Party headquarters was set on fire. A suspect in that case was later charged by the Department of Justice in connection with both the party headquarters fire and an arson attack on a Tesla dealership.

In July, the Republican Party headquarters in Prince William County, Virginia, was vandalized with graffiti and a liquid believed to be urine, according to Fox 5 DC. In Overland Park, Kansas, an attempted arson targeting the Johnson County Republican Party headquarters caused minor damage to a sidewalk outside the building.

The string of incident reflect a rise in political violence. According to The Hill, the number of threats investigated by U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) grew by 57.7 percent in 2025, according to a new report from the agency.

Last year, the police force said their threat investigators examined 14,938 potential threats made against lawmakers and their families and staff or against the Capitol itself — 5,000 more than in 2024.

The number of threat investigations has increased in each of the past three years. The agency processed 9,474 cases in 2024, 8,008 in 2023 and 7,501 in 2022, the report found.

The DEMOCRATS IN LONGMONT COLORADO DID THE SAME THINGS BEFORE I MOVED FROM THERE TO ARKANSAS IN 2014. THEY WOULD STEAL REPUBLICAN YARD SIGNS AND ONE WOMAN WOULD DEPOSIT DOG SHIT AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY OFFICE ON MAIN STREET. SHE WAS CAUGHT BUT NOTHING OF SIGNIFICANCE HAPPENED TO HER EXCEPT GETTING HER NAME IN THE LOCAL PAPER.
