Police responded to reports of shots fired at Dallas’ Love Field shortly after 12:30 p.m. (ET).
A woman reportedly fired a gun into the air at a ticketing counter and was shot by responding police. The woman survived and was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in an unknown condition.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a ground stop, halting all Love Field departures and making arriving planes wait on the tarmac.
NBC 5 Dallas-Ft. Worth further reports:
Max Geron, Chief of Police in Rockwall, told NBC 5 in a phone interview Monday morning that he and his family were going through security when they heard gunshots.
Geron said a number of shots were heard near a baggage or ticket counter area. He said he grabbed his kids and that the TSA agents responded quickly by shuffling travelers into secure areas.
He said the TSA then got word that “the shooter was down” and they were evacuated out of the airport and sequestered in an outdoor location.

Love Field is a city-owned airport six miles northwest of downtown Dallas. Today, it primarily serves Southwest Airlines. It was Dallas’ primary airport until Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport opened in 1974.

Since the reporting only says “woman”, and if the shooter were white would 99% of the time say “white woman” I’m guessing the “woman” was black or hispanic. Doesn’t matter, since the shooter wasn’t a right wing white guy, there is nothing to see here, just move along.
