The United States Supreme Court has declined to intervene in the defamation case brought by Dominion Voting Systems against MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell.

The decision allows Dominion’s lawsuit against Lindell to proceed. The high court’s vote was not publicly disclosed. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson did not participate in the decision.

Dominion is seeking $1.3 billion in damages from Lindell over the debunked election conspiracy theory that Dominion machines had been manipulated to flip votes to Biden.

Lindell denies any wrondoing.

CNBC further reports:

The justices’ decision not to hear the case means a federal judge’s ruling in August 2021 that allowed the lawsuit to move forward remains in place.

Lindell, a prominent TV salesman for the pillows his company makes, is an outspoken supporter of former President Donald Trump.

Dominion claims in its lawsuit that Lindell knew his claims about them were false. However, Lindell’s attorneys say their client genuinely believes them.

“Lindell asserts today, as he did throughout the relevant period, that his statements regarding Dominion, its voting machines, and the integrity of the tabulation were, and continue to be, valid, accurate, and true,” Lindell’s lawyers wrote in court papers.

Lindell had unsuccessfully asked U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols of Washington, D.C., to allow him to appeal two legal questions related to the landmark 1964 Supreme Court defamation ruling in New York Times v. Sullivan, which concluded that there must be evidence of “actual malice” for a public figure to pursue a defamation claim. Lindell argues that Dominion is a public figure because it performs a government function in elections and that therefore the “actual malice” standard applies. His lawyers argue that because Lindell genuinely believes in his claims, there was no “actual malice” and that therefore the lawsuit should be dismissed.

Wait a minute? They should be able to use the fact that a county in Michigan had 6000 votes switch to Biden before it was discovered and corrected. The excuse was it was a dominion machine that wasn’t updated to the current software! That’s proof enough for anyone to believe the machines had the capability to switch votes!

        Captnguido

Probably not, but at least we have the Michigan event documented with the MI state elections commission so it can be used as corroborating evidence!

I’m thinking that Michigan and/or other places shouldn’t matter. The fact that it happened at all is proof that it COULD have happened anywhere.

That would be a legitimate concern and point for looking into it, were it in the democrats favor. But you should know by now that reason always goes against the Right, and in favor of democrats, in our courts of “law” now.

      John M

There’s a pattern with these leftist Democrats including Hillary. Destroy any EVIDENCE and take your chances in the courts. Instead of the machines being impounded, they were left unsecured thereby polluting any evidence.

        J Everett

No, they aren’t “taking their chances” in the court. They know full well the courts are already rigged in their favor, and they have full protection from justice. They don’t flout the law like this because they’re risk takers. They do it because they CAN. The precedent has already been set, and you’d think the public could see it, but I guess not. The majority, even on the Right are too stupid to see the obvious.

Dominion was just sued in Fulton County, Pennsylvania because their voting computer systems were never certified for the 2020 election, and they found 9 vulnerabilities for hacking into the computer. But, the biggest issue according to the lawsuit was that the Dominion Computer Voting Systems in Pennsylvania were being operated from Quebec, Canada. Now, a large county in Wisconsin has filed to block Dominion Voting machines in their county because of fraud and other significant problems in the counting. So, Mike Lindell has NEW EVIDENCE to present to the Federal District Court.

Disgusting! SCOTUS and USA courts are afraid of the truth.

I think they know it’s true, but if they were to say it, they’d have to come up with a solution for how to handle it–and that’s a biggie. There’s no established precedence for what would need to be done, and the court cases could go on forever. Really big cluster. (which is exactly what we have).

        J Everett

How convenient. So you’re saying it’s not that they’re evil lying scum, but just that it wouldn’t be inconvenient, and too much work?

      J Everett

They aren’t afraid of it, since they have all the power. They’re just against it.
