According to an exclusive report, prosecutors at the Justice Department believe they have enough evidence to charge former President Donald Trump with obstruction of justice following the raid at Mar-a-Lago.
However, Bloomberg’s Chris Strohm reports that U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland is unlikely to proceed if there is nothing more than obstruction charges to build a case on.
Moreover, Strohm’s reporting, which includes interviews with people with firsthand knowledge of the investigation, reveals that FBI agents are sharply divided over whether or not prosecuting Trump is the right call. Although agents don’t make that decision.
Trump is likely to announce a 2024 presidential run after the midterms.
Per Mediaite:
If there are charges against Trump, they will likely not be announced until after the midterm elections. Sources told Bloomberg people may even need to wait until after Christmas Day for any announcement on charges. A special master being granted in the case has also slowed the process. That report is not expected until December 16.
According to the report, Garland is patient as officials are still investigating thousands of seized records and there are “complex political and prosecutorial issues to resolve,” should the former president actually be charged.
Trump has denied any wrongdoing amid accusations he mishandled classified documents after leaving the White House. The former president has claimed multiple times that the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago are politically motivated.

I’d move everything I own out of Trump Tower in NYC, just pay taxes and let the building just rot away and turn that area back into a slum like it was before Trump built Trump Towers and brought things back to where the once were, and while doing those things I’d move to my estate on that remote South Atlantic island and live happily ever after.
