President Joe Biden is once again calling for a nationwide ban on so-called “assault weapons” following two shootings that took place in California this week.
In a statement issued Monday, the President urged Congress to “act quickly” to deliver legislation banning “assault weapons” to his desk. In the aforementioned statement, Biden specifically mentioned legislation introduced by Senator Diane Feinstein of California, where this week’s shootings took place.
“Today, Senator Feinstein, with whom I worked with to pass the last Assault Weapons Ban in 1994, has once again introduced an Assault Weapons and High-Capacity Magazine Ban in the Senate, as well as legislation raising the age to purchase them to 21. These measures have been cosponsored by Senators Murphy, Blumenthal, and others. In the 10 years that the Assault Weapons Ban was on the books, mass shootings went down. After Republicans let the law expire in 2004 and those weapons were allowed to be sold again, mass shootings tripled.”
As in the statement above, Biden often touts the success of the 1994 assault weapons ban he helped co-author and usher through Congress. The success of the measure has been debunked numerous times, including by federal agencies themselves.
Statistics previously reported by the Department of Justice in a 2004 study showed that the federal ban which was in place from 1994 to 2004 had no measurable impact on crimes.
The National Rifle Association (NRA) said that “as much as Joe Biden enjoys portraying himself as a homespun everyman, he’s still the most anti-Second Amendment president ever. You don’t need to read between the lines of his remarks (predictably tedious as they may be) to recognize a deep contempt for America’s gun owners and lack of respect for their rights” in a release issued Monday.
Biden only knows of a couple of things, and can only address about one-half of any issue at a time.

California and all its anti gun laws don’t be working so good. The cops need to be given a chance to do their jobs and know they will have the backing of the people . For those not up on the legal facts, and history, Selective Fire Capable Firearms are not readily to the
private citizen according to long existing federal law, National Firearms Act of 1934. On the other hand, Semiautomatic Rifles have been commonly available for more than 100 years. Semiautomatic Handguns were around earlier. Wake up and smell the coffe.

I’ve asked before on other forums – does anyone know where/when slow joe got his deep seated hatred for guns (except for shotguns fired from the balcony or thru the front door). So far I haven’t seen any reply from anyone. Surely there was something that triggered (pun intended) that hatred.
Weren’t the murders in SoCal done with a pistol, not sure about Half Moon Bay but since the lame stream media (afaik) is being quiet about the weapon it likely wasn’t an ”assault weapon” (even by kalypornia ‘standards’).

Biden is a lying sack of horse turds. The Assault Weapons ban, in the 90s had very little effect on any shootings.Hell, they didn’t then, and still don’t even know what an Assault Weapon is. Any of these weasels in Congress or the Senate vote for this BS, they’re so gone, as WE THE PEOPLE will remove their butts, with whatever means necessary, for violating our GOD GIVEN rights. It seems that Congress nor the Senate either can’t or won’t defend us, so we have to defend ourselves, and we will, using our 1st, and 2nd Amendment rights, to protect all of the others.

How about Biden or some “firearms expert” climbing down from their mountain of information, aka misinformation and telling us ordinary citizens EXACTLY what these assault weapons, the ones they would ban, are. Hunting never interesting, competitive rifle shooting was my chosen game. I fired 30 caliber (30-06 and 7.62 x 51mm) bolt action and semiautomatic rifles in competition for many years, and I continue to wonder as to EXACTLY what assault weapons are. By the way, the semiautomatic rifle is nothing new, this type of rifle having been commonly available since prior to the First World War, more than 100 years ago.
