59 Percent Of Americans Don’t Want Biden To Run Again

Beset by crippling inflation and questioning his mental and physical health, an overwhelming majority of Americans do not want President Joe Biden to seek a second term.

The latest Yahoo News poll finds 59 percent of Americans do not want Biden to run for reelection in 2024.

Only 23 percent want to see Biden again.

The poll is the latest complication for a Biden campaign saddled with a deeply unpopular candidate and buoyed only by the lack of a widely-known or supported challenger.

Biden failed to gain majority support for a second term among all age groups, income brackets and races.

The only groups in which a plurality supported a second Biden term were black voters (43 percent to 34 percent), Democrats and those who voted for Biden in 2020.

But even those two groups did not break fifty percent. The poll found only 49 percent of Americans who voted for Biden in 2020 want him to run again, along with just 49 of those in his own Democrat Party.

Only 47 percent of Democrats say they would support renominating Biden for another term as president, with 34 percent preferring “someone else” and 19 percent “not sure” how they would vote.

While Democrats are generally happy with Biden’s policies and even the direction of the country under Biden, the poll finds they feel he is too old and lacks the physical and mental stamina the job requires.

The poll found only 25 percent of Democrats felt Biden, the incumbent president with no credible rival, was their party’s “strongest candidate,” with 49 percent openly disagreeing with that statement.

That result also comes despite the poll finding Democrats can’t agree on a replacement, with only 25 percent supporting the next-leading candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris.
