Newly disclosed texts have been unearthed by Dominion Voting Systems’ $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News.
Messages from Tucker Carlson after the 2020 election show he was none too pleased with then-President Donald Trump’s team.

The newly released communications, which include messages that were previously redacted, show the Fox News fact-checking team — known internally as the Brain Room — informed Fox hosts and executives that there was no evidence to support claims being made by President Donald Trump and his team that the election was rigged by widespread fraud. Fox News, Dominion argues, aired those claims regardless of that knowledge.
Other messages show the extent to which Fox News host Tucker Carlson fumed about the claims being made by Trump’s team about the election.
In one exchange, Carlson raged in texts to his producers that Sidney Powell, who at the time was a lawyer for the Trump campaign, could not provide evidence for her increasingly loony allegations that the election was stolen.
When a Fox News staffer whose name is redacted from the communications sent Carlson a report that Powell had been “shunned” by the Trump team over her deranged claims, the Fox News host replied with an expletive.
“That c*nt,” Carlson said. “I hope she’s punished.”
The staffer responded to the expletive with, “I’m going to destroy her.”
Carlson maintains that releasing the messages is an unjust violation of his privacy. The Fox News host recently told former “Rush Limbaugh Show” producer Bo Snerdley that he “loves Trump as a person.” Carlson’s interview came about in response to another batch of texts republished in court documents made public by Dominion, where he said he hated Trump passionately. Carlson told Snerdley that his words, in that instance, were an emotional response to incorrect information from an “incompetent” Trump aide.
Like Carlson, representatives for Fox News vehemently protest Dominion’s legal filings that have disclosed a mountain of private text messages from network executives and personalities.
The network argues that Dominion’s suit is an overt threat to press freedom.
