One of the fastest-growing states in the country banned the sale, manufacture and import of assault weapons on Tuesday.
With his signature, Gov. Jay Inslee (D) made Washington the 10th state to prohibit the sale of AR-15s and dozens of other semi-automatic rifles effectively immediately.
HB 1240 does not ban the possession of assault weapons and allows for law enforcement and military personnel ownership.
Critics call it blatantly unconstitutional under the precedent set by the Supreme Court in the Heller and Bruen decisions.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) announced it would immediately sue Washington’s Attorney General Bob Ferguson “to have this law declared unconstitutional.”

The House concurred with a floor amendment to House Bill 1240 that was added in the Senate, voting 56-42 to approve it on April 19. The amendment will allow gun manufacturers to sell inventory already in stock prior to Jan. 1, 2023, and only to out-of-state clientele for 90 days after the bill goes into effect.

Inslee and Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson both took to social media to celebrate the passage of the bill, with Inslee tweeting, “WA does not and will not accept gun violence as normal. Banning the sale of assault weapons, our bill to enact training requirements and a wait period, and the bill to improve accountability of manufacturers and retailers will save lives.”
Gun advocates have vowed to challenge the bill in court, arguing the ban violates the second amendment.
In states that have passed similar laws to HB 1240, litigation has followed.

Don’t live in Washington. It’s destined to be a completely lawless state and you won’t be able to defend yourself.
No state constitution allows a state to impose any of its gun laws on its true citizens, so none of the gun laws are written to be imposed on them. Since citizens via the 14th amendment have no gun rights, the laws are written to be exclusively imposed on them. That makes them constitutional.
Here is where the treason comes in – then the gov in the states, as a matter of official policy imposes those gun laws on those people that are only citizens of their state. This is exclusively the white citizens in each state.
Since the trial courts have been under absolute communist control for over 70 years, this fact has been kept secret in order to disarm all the citizens of the states.
Federal gun laws: The same rule applies. The federal gov is not granted the power to come into a state and over ride a right secured by a state constitution – so the feds also pretend everyone is a non-white and since this is kept secret, no one knows to challenge this or how.
The only thing that comes to mind is “BITE ME”.

It already takes a special license to own an assault rifle. How can these people make laws about things they know nothing about? An AR-15 is not and has never been an assault rifle. When will people stop voting for these people who want to destroy their states?
You sir are correct. The AR-15 is not an assault rifle. Someone or may a bunch of people should explain that to these idiot governors that AR stands for Armalite Rifle. That weapon is a semi-automatic weapon. To be an assault rifle, you are able to hold down the trigger and the weapon will fire until the magazine is empty. That is not the case with a semi-automatic rifle. To own an assault rifle/weapon, you need a federal firearms license. That is the license that is required to own a Thompson Submachine Gun that was used during the prohibition era and World War II. These governors and federal politicians do not know what they are saying is totally incorrect. Maybe the sad thing is that they actually know that the opposite is true, but they like their cushy jobs in politics.
