A new report has identified the suspected source behind the batch of leaked footage of former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
According to a report from The Tampa Bay Times, a federal prosecutor is investigating the alleged hack of Fox News by Tim Burke that resulted in internal videos of Tucker Carlson being released and shared with the media.
The outlet reported that the FBI searched Burke’s home earlier this week. The successful media consultant and former Deadspin and Daily Beast writer known on Twitter as @bubbaprog is reportedly being investigated in connection with the leak.

A letter sent to Fox News by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jay Trezevant and obtained by the Tampa Bay Times asked the network to “preserve information and records” pertaining to computer hacks at the company. The federal investigation into the matter “concerns allegations of unauthorized computer access; interception of wire, oral or electronic communication; conspiracy; and other federal crimes.”
“The letter does not mention Burke, but the Times confirmed with two people close to the investigation that the matter relates to the May 8 search at his Seminole Heights home,” noted the report, which added Burke “has not been accused of any wrongdoing.”

“I don’t want to be a slave to Fox Nation, which I don’t think that people watch anyway,” Carlson said on a call captured by video. “We’re gonna — because, you know, I’m like a representative of the American media now, speaking to an exile in Romania and welcoming him back into the brotherhood of journalists.”

“That unaired footage is Fox’s confidential intellectual property; Fox did not consent to its distribution or publication; and Fox does not consent to its further distribution or publication.”

So what is up with that? Why would the FBI drop everything and suddenly investigate a case involving quasi conservative media like FOX. Especially when it would appear that their investigation would implicate leftist media? Just seems strange that a DOJ and FBI that has bent over backward to create an unequal justice system that favors leftists would suddenly flip and go after one of their own for a conservative network.
