ALERT – The Ukrainian Security Service, the SSU, has detained a Ukrainian woman who was allegedly caught ‘red-handed’ passing intelligence she collected on President Volodymyr Zelensky’s location and itinerary to Russian agents.
According to Ukrainian officials, the Russians would have used that intel to target Zelensky with a targeted airstrike during his visit last week to Mykolaiv, a southeastern city near the front.
This latest assassination plot was reportedly uncovered before Zelensky’s trip. Still, he took “additional security measures.”
But this isn’t all the alleged spy was doing.
Ukrainian investigators found that the woman had been locating and photographing Ukraine’s defense and electronic warfare systems and ammunition depots throughout the Ochakov region.

“The Ukrainian Security Service continued to document the criminal actions of the enemy accomplice in order to obtain new data about her Russian ‘curators’ and the tasks received,” officials said in a Monday statement. ‘Curators’ is how Ukrainians refer to ‘handlers’ or case officers.
The woman is a former saleswoman in a military store and reportedly used her connections to gather information, according to the SSU.

There have been several attempts on Zelenskyy’s life since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022. In the first month of the war, Zeleskyy said in a televised address he believed Russia had made him “target number one” and his family “target number two.” In March, presidential adviser Mikhail Podolyak told the news organization Ukrainian Pravda that Ukraine’s intelligence community believes the president has survived over a dozen assassination attempts since the war began.

That’s the maximum prison sentence this woman could receive, according to the SSU, which said she is under suspicion of unauthorized dissemination of information on shipment, transfer of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, transfer or deployment of the AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine].
