Arizona Democratic Sen. Ruben Gallego is launching an effort to challenge a new Trump Administration immigration policy that could require many green card applicants to leave the United States and complete the process abroad.

According to a report from The Hill, Gallego is not only seeking to overturn the policy itself but is also pursuing a procedural strategy that could make it easier for Congress to reverse the change.

The dispute revolves around a recent U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) policy affecting how certain immigrants obtain lawful permanent residency.

NATIONAL SECURITY

Kyiv-Moscow and US-China talks set as Ukraine’s humanitarian crisis escalates. Talks are set to resume Monday between Kyiv and the Kremlin after a weekend of Russian attacks that raised fears of a widening of the war — and unrelenting fighting that obstructed efforts to provide relief to besieged Ukrainian cities, including the port city of Mariupol.

Russian invasion in Ukraine could spell major shifts in the Pacific. The ripple effects of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the varied responses by U.S. partners, allies and China could have major implications for a host of American strategic efforts in the Indo-Pacific region.

BIDEN NEEDS TO DO MORE – Bipartisan lawmakers ramp up calls on Biden to give Ukraine weapons, fighter jets. A growing number of U.S. lawmakers ratcheted up pressure on President Biden on Sunday to increase military aid to Ukraine, including sending fighter jets and air defense systems that the administration rejected last week.

CHINA THREAT

DON’T HELP RUSSIA – US to warn China of perils of aiding Russia at Rome meeting. U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan plans to meet China’s top diplomat Yang Jiechi in Rome on Monday and will stress the economic penalties Beijing will face if it helps Russia in its war in Ukraine, U.S. officials say.

Marines, Japanese troops brush up old partnership for a new Pacific era. The arms-length relationship between Marines and their Camp Fuji neighbors, the Japan Self-Defense Forces is changing. The two are rebuilding their relationship as China asserts a claim of dominance in the Indo-Pacific region.

TRAINING DOWN UNDER – US Marines touch down at RAAF Base Darwin. The first of more than 2,000 US Marines have landed in RAAF Base Darwin to prepare for combined training exercises with the ADF.

PLANE DOWN? Is China using snap military drills to conceal an aircraft recovery effort? Taiwan has said a Chinese military plane crashed into the South China Sea in early March, with Beijing appearing to hide its rescue and recovery effort under the guise of a snap military drill.

RUSSIA THREAT

WAR REACHING NATO BORDER – Russian airstrike hits base in western Ukraine, kills 35. Waves of Russian missiles pounded a military training base near Ukraine’s western border with NATO member Poland, killing 35 people, Ukrainian authorities said Sunday.

Russian airstrike at NATO’s doorstep raises fears of expanded war. Western officials said the attack at NATO’s doorstep was not merely a geographic expansion of the Russian invasion but a shift of tactics in a war many already worried might metastasize into a larger European conflict.

White House official reiterates US would defend NATO territory. At least 35 people were killed and 134 injured after Russian missiles struck the Ukrainian military facility located 15 miles from Poland, Ukrainian officials said. The site has been used by U.S. and NATO forces.

WHAT DOES THIS SAY ABOUT RUSSIAN TACTICS AND COMMS? 3 Russian generals reportedly killed in Ukraine in less than two weeks. For the third time in less than two weeks, a Russian general has reportedly died on the front lines of the invasion of Ukraine.

Brent Renaud, an American journalist with NYT, is killed in Ukraine. Brent Renaud, an award-winning American filmmaker and journalist, was killed in Ukraine on Sunday while reporting in a suburb of the capital, Kyiv, according to Ukraine’s Interior Ministry.

NORTH KOREA THREAT

South Korea sees imminent prospect of North ICBM test. The South Korean government believes North Korea could test an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) as soon as this week, domestic media said, citing unidentified sources.

IRAN THREAT

WHY ARE RUSSIANS NEGOTIATING THIS DEAL ANYWAY? US won’t negotiate sanctions with Russia to save Iran nuclear deal. A senior U.S. official said Moscow had a week to withdraw its demand for written guarantees exempting Russia from any Ukraine-related sanctions that would constrain Moscow’s future trade with Iran.

INTERNATIONAL SECURITY

UK donates power generators to Ukraine to keep essential services running. Britain will donate more than 500 mobile generators to help Ukraine and weaken Russia’s attempts to cripple its power supply, Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng said on Monday, adding that they would be enough to power 20,000 buildings.

Hmm?? Sooo, Neo-Stalinist Russia setting the Rules Of Engagement, and the west bends over?

Why not follow the precedent the USSR and Communist China used in the Korean war?

They both piloted MIG Jet Fighters based Communist China against NATO forces trying to repel the North Korean invasion of South Korea. Thousands of Communist Chinese troops invaded to support retreating North Korean forces.

Therefore, NATO pilots can fly Jet Fighters based in NATO countries against Russian forces invading Ukraine and even send troops and armor!
…See how that works? Fair is Fair!

One small problem, Russia had 5 nukes in 1950. The USA had 299. Yet Truman chickened out. That ratio is not in our favor today.
