The governor of Texas says he won’t go down without a fight after a federal judge ordered the state to remove his floating barrier – at least temporarily – from the Rio Grande.
Republican Greg Abbott deployed the buoys to discourage illegal border crossings without asking the federal government for permission. Judge David A. Ezra ruled on Wednesday in favor of the DOJ’s argument that Governor Abbott violated the federal Rivers and Harbors Act when he deployed the buoy barrier near Eagle Pass through Operation Lone Star without getting clearance from the Army Corps of Engineers. Governor Abbott contends that he has the constitutional right to secure the state’s border.
In his ruling, Ezra mentioned a post on Governor Abbott’s X account, formerly Twitter, that declared he didn’t think he had to ask for permission. The judge said otherwise.
The deadline for Texas to move the floating barrier to the riverbank is Sept. 15.
Abbott plans to appeal the decision, vowing to go “all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court” to keep the roughly 1,000-foot-long barrier in place.

Add barbed wire on surface & rig same underwater between bouys
Easy fix, move it from the middle of the river to the Texas shore line, that’s Texas land, not federal property. Then add the barbed wire and some claymors. That would slow them down and solve a lot of problems.

I saw photo of illegals simply wading around the buoys, water not deep there. BTW, illegals have arrived in Casper, Wyoming and the locals are going crazy. 500 pounds of poop removed from downtown sidewalks; nice hotel trashed by squatters. The funny irony is that the citizens have not yet discovered the source of their new homeless. When Casper, Wyoming figures this out, something will be done at the border.

Since the President broke his Oath of office, and committed treason by opening our borders, and not giving the Country and Americans the security of safty, then i see no reason for Texas to remove the barriers! He is protecting his citizens and state! I say shut the door in every state to illegals!! Of course Democratic states want them, so allow them to be dropped in Dem states once they are in.
