Which claim provides the greatest financial benefits?
For decades, Rep. Adam Schiff has represented the better part of a million people in Greater Los Angeles. Campaign literature and website bios have long touted that Schiff raised his family in Burbank. And yet, enterprising journalists discovered that Schiff has been primarily living in Maryland since the early 2000s.
CNN first reported that Schiff designated his 3,420-square-foot Maryland property as his primary residence in mortgage documents. To reduce his $7,000 tax liability, he also claimed his 650-square-foot condo in Burbank, California, as his primary residence.
Is @AdamSchiff’s primary residence really California, or is it Maryland?

It depends on which claim most financially benefits him.
The candidate for California’s Senate seat often claims Maryland, and it seems clear that’s where he really lives.https://t.co/cI0bRXlC81 pic.twitter.com/hBnzkIbh23
Marisol Samayoa, a spokesperson for Schiff, maintained the lawmaker primarily resides in California.
CNN reported Schiff’s primary residence appears to be his much larger Maryland property based on public records, past remarks and images shared on his publicly available social media profiles.
The Maryland residence was designated Schiff’s primary residence from 2003 to 2012, following the congressman’s mortgage refinancing.
In 2017, Schiff made his California property tax payment with a check bearing his Maryland address.
Schiff is running for U.S. Senate to take over the seat long held by Dianne Feinstein.
