Embattled Congressman George Santos isn’t going down without a fight.
And if the New York Republican goes down, he’s hinting at taking some of his colleagues down with him.
By threatening to expose their alleged extramarital affairs.
Of course, whether he’ll actually name names remains to be seen.
In the meantime, Time magazine reports his latest scorched-earth tactics:
In a defiant speech Friday sprinkled with taunts and obscenities aimed at his congressional colleagues, Santos insisted he was “not going anywhere.” But he acknowledged that his time as a member of Congress, at least, may soon be coming to an end.
“I know I’m going to get expelled when this expulsion resolution goes to the floor,” he said Friday night during a conversation on X Spaces. “I’ve done the math over and over, and it doesn’t look really good.”
The comments came one week after the Republican chairman of the House Ethics Committee, Michael Guest, introduced a resolution to expel Santos once the body returns from Thanksgiving break.
The House is set to vote later this week on whether to expel Santos, who also faces 23 federal charges. Prosecutors claim Santos stole the identities of campaign donors and used their credit cards for his personal benefit.
If the House does expel Santos, he will become the sixth U.S. lawmaker ever to be booted out of Congress.
