Frasier has left the building!
One of the most iconic sitcom stars in television history just committed a cardinal sin in liberal Hollywood: admitting that he supports former President Donald Trump.
During a British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) radio interview, Kelsey Grammer revealed his support while promoting the reboot of his popular show “Frasier.” (RELATED: Hollywood Star Leaves Democrat Party, Endorses Biden Challenger)
According to the BBC, representatives for Paramount's streaming service terminated the interview, despite Grammer's willingness to continue.
Per Mediaite:
The interview on Monday, which also touched upon Grammer's personal tragedies and his professional connections, saw the actor acknowledging comedian Roseanne Barr's influence on the Frasier reboot. Barr is a vocal supporter of Trump, which led interviewer Justin Webb to ask Grammer about whether he was still a supporter for the former president.
“I am, and I'll let that be the end of it.” Grammer politely responded.
However, even that brief acknowledgment was deemed excessive by the PR team at Paramount+. (RELATED: Oscar Winner Susan Sarandon Ruins Legacy With Impressively Bad Take)
Webb proceeded to explain to confused listeners the reason for the interview's abrupt ending, as reported by Mediaite:
“I have to say, actually, Kelsey Grammer himself was perfectly happy to go on talking about it,” Webb said. “The Paramount+ PR people, less happy that he talked about it at some length so we… They decided we'd had plenty of time for our interview.”
He continued: “But I should stress that he was perfectly happy to talk about why he supports Donald Trump and still does in the forthcoming election.”
Grammer, who has been open about being a Republican Party voter, had previously expressed his approval of Trump. The actor recently reprised his role as Dr. Frasier Crane in a Paramount+ reboot of the NBC sitcom which ran between 1993 and 2004.
