While delivering his third State of the Union address to Congress on Thursday night, President Joe Biden called on Congress to infringe upon gun rights once again.
The President demanded that Congress send him legislation to “ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines,” as well as passing “universal background checks.”

In his speech, Biden explicitly called out the National Rifle Association (NRA). The group responded with their won post on X – formerly Twitter – Thursday night:

Biden also claimed that none of measures he was calling for violate the Second Amendment.
The 30 seconds of his speech, clipped by the White House social media team, were much more coherent than another claim made by Biden about his supposedly deep knowledge of gun rights.
Biden claimed that he “taught the Second Amendment for 12 years.”

Heritage Foundation Senior Legal Fellow Amy Swearer also noted that classes on the Second Ammendment are “a pretty brand new thing” which is not included in typical law school curricula.
