Putin's Revenge: ‘Kill Team’ Behind Sonic Attacks

ANALYSIS – What is Joe Biden going to do about it? This same time last year I reported that “‘Declassified Report Points To Fed Cover-Up Of Sonic Weapon Causing ‘Havana Syndrome.’”

This, after the Intelligence Community Experts Panel on Anomalous Health Incidents (AHIs) concluded that “Havana Syndrome” could, in fact, be caused by directed “electromagnetic energy.”

And it seems I was right.

Now, Greg Edgreen, a retired Army lieutenant colonel who led the Pentagon’s investigation (by the Defense Intelligence Agency) into the unusual health incidents, says he believes Vladimir Putin is behind the attacks.

He made these claims on a “60 Minutes” report on Sunday that was part of a joint investigation that also included The Insider and Germany’s Der Spiegel newspaper. (RELATED: Report: Russian Unit Secretly Making US Officials Sick)

For those who need to be refreshed, “Havana Syndrome” is the moniker for the bizarre rash of neurological disorders plaguing over 1,000 U.S. diplomats and spies stationed at our embassies overseas.

This number includes one or two friends of mine.

The condition got its name because reports of American officials falling ill were first openly documented at the U.S. Embassy in Cuba’s capital in late 2016. The official U.S. government line has for years been that the debilitating symptoms suffered by our people stationed abroad were not caused by any type of foreign attack.

For example, on March 1st, 2023, Avril Haines, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), told journalists that most cases of Havana Syndrome were likely attributed to “environmental factors” or “conventional illnesses.” (RELATED: Did This Biden Justice Department Official Cover Up An Illegal $2 Million Contribution To Biden?)

She added that the idea that the symptoms were caused by a “directed energy weapon” was considered “highly unlikely.”

As Newsmax reported:

“Unfortunately, I can’t get into specifics, based on the classification,” Edgreen said. “But I can tell you at a very early stage, I started to focus on Moscow.”

The investigation unearthed disturbing evidence pointing toward Russian involvement. Victims, including White House staff, CIA officers, and FBI agents, recount harrowing experiences of sudden attacks and debilitating symptoms.

“Carrie,” an FBI agent working in counterintelligence, described the moment she was struck by an intense force, likening it to a “dentist drilling on steroids.” Evidence links her case to a Russian spy, Vitalii Kovalev, suggesting a potential espionage connection.

Further investigation by journalist Christo Grozev revealed the possible involvement of Russian intelligence unit 29155, with indications of directed energy weapon usage. Suspicious incidents in Tbilisi, Georgia, implicate Albert Averyanov, son of the unit’s commander, raising questions about a coordinated effort against American officials.

The Insider noted that: “Members of the Kremlin’s infamous military intelligence sabotage squad have been placed at the scene of suspected attacks on overseas U.S. government personnel and their family members, leading victims to question what Washington knows about the origins of Havana Syndrome, and what an appropriate Western response might entail.”

Axios called Unit 29155 a “Russian assassination unit.”

Axios further reported:

Edgreen noted the top 5%-10% of performing officers across the agency had been impacted.

“And consistently there was a Russia nexus,” said Edgreen, speaking publicly for the first time on the matter in Sunday’s “60 Minutes.” “There was some angle where they [the targeted U.S. officials] had worked against Russia, focused on Russia, and done extremely well.”

Mark Zaid, an attorney with security clearance representing more than two dozen clients with Havana syndrome symptoms, including from the FBI, CIA and State Department, said there’s evidence of a government “cover up” involving “lines of inquiry that would take us potentially to answers we don’t want to have to deal with.”

He told Pelley a thread that’s common among affected FBI personnel was that “most if not all of my clients other than the family members connected to the employee … were all doing something relating to Russia.”

This is serious stuff. As the Insider concluded:

Havana Syndrome shows all the markings of a Russian hybrid warfare operation. If it is established that the Kremlin really is behind the attacks, then the provision of healthcare and monetary compensation for the victims will not be enough to solve the problem. Removing this many capable American spies and diplomats from active service without killing them and without your main adversary even admitting they’ve done so — such a sustained, decade-long campaign would easily count as one of Vladimir Putin’s greatest strategic victories against the United States.

The question now is, what will Team Biden do about it?
