Authorities in Alabama have apprehended and indicted a suspect on terrorism charges for detonating a nail bomb outside the state attorney general's office.
Kyle Benjamin Douglas Calvert, 26, is accused of malicious use an explosive and possession of an unregistered destructive device. A press release from the Department of Justice (DOJ) adds that he placed political stickers around the crime scene.
Some of the stickers bore the antifa logo featuring the words “ANTI-FASCISM IS COMMUNITY SELF-DEFENSE.” Others had anti-police and anti-immigration enforcement rhetoric. (RELATED: Biden Can't Hide America's Crime-Ridden Cities Anymore)
According to the DOJ, Calvert posted anarchist content on social media, expressing “his belief that violence should be directed against the government.”

Court documents also said the man was “dangerous” as he had “described his inability to control his own violent, aggressive impulses.”
Calvert detonated an explosive device outside of the Alabama Attorney General's Office in February, and “added a substantial number of nails and other shrapnel to increase [the explosive's] destructive capability,” the DOJ alleged.
The stickers placed on state buildings included, “Support your local antifa.”
“In the early hours of Saturday, February 24, an explosive device was detonated outside of the Alabama Attorney General's Office building in Montgomery. Thankfully, no staff or personnel were injured by the explosion. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency will be leading the investigation, and we are urging anyone with information to contact them immediately,” Attorney General Steve Marshall (R) said at the time.

The bombing came one day after Marshall said that his office would not prosecute in vitro fertilization providers or families after the state supreme court ruled that embryos are children.
“[Antifa is] a group that law enforcement has a singular focus on, particularly based on their core set of values and beliefs, individuals that are willing to engage in violent behavior, completely contrary to the structure of our Constitution,” Marshall said in response to Calvert's arrest in an interview with Fox News Digital. “It is a group that should be on the radar screen of law enforcement agencies across our state and as well as our nation, and are extremely disturbing and concerning to those of us who serve in public office.”
“I do think that there is, to some extent, a lack of awareness among many as to the goals of that organization as well as their loose affiliation across the entire country. It's not lost on law enforcement,” Marshall continued. “To the extent that what's happened here in Alabama can raise awareness about that issue, then I think that's a good thing.”
In response to the indictment, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland reiterated that the Justice Department “has no tolerance for acts of violence” against public servants.
