The co-hosts of “Fox & Friends” were none too impressed with the lack of decorum displayed at Thursday night's House Oversight Committee meeting.
Sitting on the famous curvy couch, Lawrence Jones, Ainsley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade found themselves floored by an explosive confrontation that threatened to derail yesterday's hearing to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress.
During the already tense proceedings, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) sparked further controversy by inquiring about the employment of Judge Juan Merchan's daughter by any present Democrats. Merchan's daughter holds the position of president at a progressive political consulting firm.
From there, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) interjected, and things got worse, as Mediate explains:
After Crockett questioned the relevance of Greene's point, the Georgia lawmaker insulted Crockett by referring to her “fake eyelashes.” Ocasio-Cortez condemned Greene's bullying, but Greene refused to apologize, saying the remark could be struck from the record. Crockett responded to this by asking House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) for clarification on the rules of the committee and whether insulting Greene's “bleached blonde, bad-built, butch body.”
I'm just curious. To better understand your ruling, if someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody's bleached blonde, bad-built, butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?” she asked a stunned Comer.
“James Comer, like me, I'd never heard the term ‘bleach blonde butch body.' He goes, ‘You said what now?' That was the best comeback ever,” Kilmeade said on Friday as his co-hosts laughed.
Kilmeade joked Comer was “totally overmatched by the dialogue.”
“Ladies, you got to go this low? Come on,” Earhardt lamented.
“Their parents must be so proud. I mean, to make it all the way to Congress and then act so trashy at a committee hearing,” Jones added.
