Susan Collins, the senior United States senator from Maine, declared that she will not be casting her vote for Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. Instead, the moderate Republican plans to cast a write-in vote for Nikki Haley.
Collins made the unscheduled remarks outside a fire station in Limerick, Maine, when asked by a photojournalist for a local affiliate.
“I will not be voting for either candidate,” Collins responded when asked about the election. “I am going to write in Nikki Haley's name.” When pressed on her reason for supporting Haley, Collins explained “Because she's still my favorite candidate, and I think would do a great job.”
The Hill reports:
The Maine senator endorsed Haley over Trump in the Republican presidential primary earlier this year. She also voted to convict Trump in his second impeachment trial.
And she said in late March, after Trump locked up the delegates needed for the GOP nomination, that she did not plan to vote for the former president.
“I don't think it should surprise anyone,” she said at the time.
Collins declined to say how she would vote in the 2020 presidential election, when Trump and Biden squared off for the first time.
Collins was up for reelection that year and heavily targeted by liberal groups. Despite that, she emerged victorious with 51% of the vote compared to 42% for her Democratic opponent.

Collin’s is exactly why I quit donating to the RNC and the congressional republicans. As long as McConnell and the RNC financially support a liberal like her I will never donate to them again.
This is just another example of a RINO with Dementia!!! Maine needs to wake -up to this RINOs BS!!
