-

A business owner in a -ridden city recently used his firearm to stop a burglar stealing from his business.

The , business owner stopped an individual Monday who “tried breaking into a business on Northeast Columbia Boulevard, east of Northeast 33rd Avenue. Still, leftist legislators and progressive voters in the state are trying to make self-defense gun uses near null and void.

Last fall, voters in the state narrowly passed which included provisions such as limiting the number of rounds that can be carried in a magazine to 10 and also enacting a “permit-to-purchase system.”

One group that has been fighting the measure in court is the Foundation, led by its founder and president .

The suit filed in November of 2022 alleges that Measure 114's “permits to purchase” provisions “violate the Second and 14th Amendments. The “proper-cause requirement violates the Fourteenth Amendment in that it prevents law-abiding citizens with ordinary self-defense needs from exercising their right to keep and bear arms.”

Gottlieb also reaffirmed his group's commitment to fighting for – even in deep blue states – while speaking with American Liberty News today:

“We at are using the courts to protect Americans' gun rights – so that Americans can protect themselves, their families, and their livelihoods. This is why SAF has filed a lawsuit against Oregon's new anti-gun law ”

Renowned Second Amendment researcher of the frequently published articles and submit legislative testimony about the lack of impact that anti-gun laws have.

While testifying on against a gun ban in Oregon's neighboring state if California, Lott wrote “That there is ‘no credible evidence' that such laws ‘have any meaningful effect of reducing gun homicides and no discernable crime-reduction impact.'After a brief bench trial, the judge reached his decision in June, 2021. He overturned California's ban, and quoted Lott's assessment verbatim,” as reported by The New Yorker in 2022.
