Louisiana Becomes 28th Constitutional Carry State

The number of states with has now reached 28 after the latest addition to the growing majority that protect .

Governor signed his state's constitutional carry bill into law, surrounded by activists from not only his state but across the country.

After a failed attempt to pass constitutional carry in the Pelican State last year, this year looked much more promising.

This year's constitutional carry legislation – Senate Bill 1 – was passed by the Louisiana House of Representatives by a vote of 75-28, and the Louisiana Senate with a vote of 28-10.

Prior to signing the bill, Landry also highlighted the shortage of cops in his state, which helped articulate the dire need to make it easier for ordinary citizens to be their own first responders during times of crisis.
