A Virginia judge has delivered a significant victory for gun owners, ruling that the state’s universal background check law remains blocked despite efforts by Attorney General Jay Jones and Gov. Abigail Spanberger’s administration to restart enforcement.

Lynchburg Circuit Court Judge Patrick Yeatts on Wednesday refused to dissolve a statewide injunction that has prevented Virginia from conducting background checks on private firearm sales since October 2025. The ruling came after state officials attempted to resume enforcement of the law following passage of new legislation earlier this year.

DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford Motor Company said it will not discipline or terminate a line worker who heckled President Donald Trump during a recent visit to the automaker’s River Rouge plant, declining the president’s public call for the employee’s firing and fueling debate over free speech, union protections, and workplace discipline.

The employee, identified as Thomas “TJ” Sabula, 40, called Trump a “pedophile protector” in an apparent attempt to link the president to Jeffrey Epstein’s nefarious crimes — a claim unsupported by evidence — while Trump toured the facility. Video footage shows Trump responding with profanity and making an obscene gesture toward the worker.

Nevertheless, Ford and United Auto Workers leadership said Sabula will retain his job and face no disciplinary action as a result of the exchange. UAW Vice President Laura Dickerson said Sabula was reinstated without any mark on his personnel record after a brief suspension, citing union protections and free speech considerations.

“This ain’t ‘The Apprentice,’” Dickerson declared, rejecting the notion that the president could dictate Ford’s personnel decisions.

Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford struck a more measured tone, describing the incident as “unfortunate” and saying the company was embarrassed by how it unfolded. However, he also confirmed that Sabula would not face disciplinary action.

The incident ignited a political firestorm — conservatives blasted the decision, while progressive activists celebrated Sabula’s defiance as a bold act of resistance. Supporters quickly raised more than $800,000 for the worker through crowdfunding before the efforts were suspended.

The White House did not immediately comment on the latest developments.

I have no issue with a company being loyal to their employees BUT not when the employees are flat out wrong.

Gotta agree with the union and Ford on this. Man has complete Freedom of Speech, even if incorrect. To our president, you are the leader of the country, not some dictator or God figure.
To add, I’m a bit to the right of Rush as a conservative, and a staunch believer in both the Constitution and our Bill of Rights, and a combat veteran. Focus on getting rid of all the
illegals in this country, not play silly games of power. Stop dealing with all these unelected, unqualified judges and get the job done . JMO

Freedom of speech is fine but showing up the President turning this country around who is helping the U.S. car industry is an insult. I wont be buying any Ford products for a long time. We need UNITY not some smart ass who knows nothing of the real world and gets his news propaganda from CNN.

Illegal and unreasonable requests should be ignored. My Thanks to Ford for doing the right thing after it’s earlier knee-jerk reaction.

While I certainly do NOT agree with the actions of that Ford worker, we still do have the 1st Amendment!
He had the right to express his opinion, no matter how incorrect and disgusting it was.
I am most certainly pro-Trump, but I’m even more pro-U.S. Constitution!
While that goof-ball ought to be ashamed of the way he expressed himself, he still had that right under our Constitution.
But his timing was definitely quite poor.
Such a grievance is best left to a RESPECTFUL letter or e-mail either to his senator, representative, or to the White House itself.
Trump’s retort was not appropriate either. Cussing at the guy and giving that hand gesture could have been done in a far better way.
That was not very presidential or Christian!
Two wrongs never make a right!

    An American

The 1st Amendment is much more important than the ravings of a goof.
While I am very much pro-Trump, I strongly believe that this goofs moronic statements to Trump to fit clearly under that Amendment.
His disgusting language should have never been used! It shows his ignorance and lack of character. But that doesn’t mean that he should be ‘canned’ from his job.
Being a jerk is not a reason for dismissal.
At the same time, I find Trumps language and hand motion to be quite un-presidential.
His mouth gets him in a lot of trouble with those of us who believe in respectful verbal intercourse without such language that we find so very inappropriate.
The American people are not New Yorkers ( and some others ) who seem to find that sort of thing to be a normal form of discussion.
Trump must get thicker skin and refrain from such a reaction. That will only turn some people against him personally, even ‘tho we generally agree with his policies.
