Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent acknowledged Wednesday that he threatened to “kick ass” during a heated confrontation last year, while firmly denying reports that he threatened to punch the now-acting Director of National Intelligence “in the face.”
The unusual exchange emerged during a Senate Finance Committee hearing, where Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) pressed Bessent about reports surrounding a confrontation between the two Trump administration officials during the summer of 2025.
According to Bessent, one key detail in the widely circulated account was inaccurate.
Seijah Drake was born in Boston, MA, where she developed a penchant for writing early on and a passion for politics in college. A Florida deputy is being hailed as a hero after he saved an unresponsive 6-month-old baby trapped in the wreckage after a speeding motorcycle slammed into a car. It was all captured on dashcam and bodycam, serving as a somber reminder why riding or driving like a maniac is dangerous to everyone.
The incident started back on February 8, just after 7:30 pm when Charlotte County Deputy Sgt. Dave Musgrove saw the motorcycle blast past him as he was on SR 776 outside Englewood, Florida. You can see in the video footage Musgrove was in the right lane and a car ahead of him was in the left lane, with the motorcycle weaving to pass them both rapidly.
How many times have you seen guys do stuff like this and wished there was cop there to bust them? This time there was and it’s a good thing because that speeding rider slammed into a car just seconds later.
As the sergeant approaches, his bodycam shows the driver’s side of that car is concaved in. With the side curtain airbags deployed, he can’t see who’s inside but it’s obvious he hears a child crying as he rushes to the passenger side.
Upon opening the rear door, he finds a small child in a car seat. Heroically, Sergeant Musgrove works rapidly to unbuckle the kid, almost like he’s done that a thousand times before (if you know, you know).
Handing the child off to a utility worker who’s stopped to help, he goes back to the vehicle to extract a baby in a carrier on the side of the impact. That’s no easy task thanks to the extensive damage and the dead rider on top of the carrier, but eventually he gets the infant free only to find the 6-month old non-responsive.
Moving the baby to the side of the road and working to get signs of life, you can see the mother standing nearby just absolutely melting down. We can’t imagine the pain seared into her mind in that moment, seeing her young child lifeless as a stranger works to save her.
This right here is why we resent “enthusiasts” who make public roads their personal raceways. It’s a selfish act. Families, children, are traveling in vehicles just trying to make it home in one piece. This rider almost killed a baby and for what, some thrills?
EMS finally arrived and were able to take over, successfully resuscitating the baby.
One thing that’s particularly interesting in the dashcam footage is right around the time of the collision, two other motorcyclists come along in the left lane. They’re not going as fast as the other, but they take off after seeing the wreckage. Did they know the first guy and didn’t want to get in trouble somehow?
Warning: the footage even without sound and blurring is pretty traumatic.
