Hours before the government shutdown hit, Fox News host Bret Baier tried to downplay the looming impasse — calling the stopgap bill a “plain, fund-the-government continuing resolution.”
Jessica Tarlov wasn’t buying it. She shot back that “clean” resolutions still came with steep cuts, including to Obamacare, and warned they’d infuriate voters on both sides.
When Baier tried to move on, a visibly agitated Tarlov cut him off: “Enough with this! … Who’s to say that they’re gonna sit down and negotiate with us afterwards?” She pointed to a video Trump had just posted mocking Democratic leaders Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer — showing Jeffries in a sombrero and mustache, Schumer sneering about “woke, trans bulls—,” all set to mariachi music — and said it proved Republicans were never serious about bargaining.
The shutdown officially took effect at midnight Wednesday. Essential services tied to public safety, national security, law enforcement, border security, and emergency response continue to operate, though some are understaffed. Payments for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are unaffected, as they are funded through mandatory spending. The U.S. Postal Service also remains operational because it is financed independently of the federal budget.
Meanwhile, the White House’s Office of Management and Budget instructed agencies to prepare not only for temporary furloughs but also for potential permanent job cuts, drafting Reduction in Force plans for nonessential roles.

Jessica Tarlov needs to face the fact that her team lost, and Trump, while being playful and happily trolling the Left – really isn’t playing around. Trump always said he would get rid of Obamacare, and this is just the start. He’s serious about cutting off aid to illegal immigrants, he’s serious about shrinking the size of the government, and he’s equally serious about putting the whole transgender drama back in the cage it belongs. Obama said it: “Elections have consequences”. Well, the classic Liberal Democrat party has turned into the Radical Far-Left Wackadoodle Socialist Party, and Trump’s putting it into a straitjacket.
Government is NEVER understaffed. No part of the government is ever understaffed (except the military, under Obummer and SloJoe’s. woke policies).this is a perfect opportunity to cull the herd.

Cut the Federal government by at least 50%. You will not get an opportunity like this until the Democrats pull this crap again, next year!

Jessica Tarlov is a complete fool. I watch her on The Five on Fox News. She continually comes up with falsehoods, quoting outrageous polls and simply touts the ultra fanatical radical leftwing of the once Democrat Party, now the New Nazi Party of America. She (supposedly a Jew) hasn’t as yet endorsed Mamdani, nor has Schumer, but I am positive they will!! That is all that needs to be said here!
