Lou Dobbs Turns on Trump for Backing ‘RINOs and the Swamp’

-

Former Fox Business reporter took a decidedly personal shot at former President . Dobbs' salvo comes as the has failed for a second day to consolidate power after regaining the House of Representatives in the midterms.

Dobbs' harsh words for Trump contrast sharply with his praise for the “20 patriots” who have opposed McCarthy through the ongoing votes.

Mediaite reports:

Trump was pointedly reluctant to stand by his initial McCarthy endorsement Tuesday, but eventually he came out again and urged Republicans to end the stalemate and elect McCarthy as Speaker.

Dobbs linked to a Fox News article about that, saying Trump “should not have” done it, and that instead, “this is the time for courage.” The obvious implication being that Trump is not showing any courage.

Dobbs then went for the jugular on Twitter.

Mediaite compared Dobbs' Trump-blasting with his successor at Fox Business.

The current biggest star at Fox Business, , has had rather a different take than the old one, showing exasperation over the tumult and telling one Republican on Wednesday that if the Republicans don't pick someone by the end of the day it will be “a disaster.”

Despite Trump's appeal to lawmakers and criticisms from some of Fox News' prime time hosts, opposition to McCarthy has grown.

Does McCarthy have enough leverage to sway some of the lawmakers who aren't in his camp? Or will another candidate prevail? Tell us below!
