As China’s Zero-COVID Policy Fails, Xi Reverses Course With New Pandemic Plan

ANALYSIS – I recently wrote about the massive failure of China’s draconian ‘Zero-COVID’ policy and how the failure’s repercussions show the fragility of China’s communist regime. This could be a growing concern for China’s leader for life, Xi Jinping.

But don’t expect the totalitarian Chairman of China’s Communist Party (CCP) not to fight back to maintain his grip and keep the world in chaos.

And one way he appears to be doing that is by abruptly opening up world travel to-and-from China, even as a new mutant version of COVID ravages the most populous country on earth.

China’s National Health Commission announced on Dec. 26 that the country had removed the cap on the number of international flights to and from China.

The health body added that outbound tourism, which dwindled to almost nothing during the pandemic, will resume shortly.

China will also end all quarantine requirements for inbound travelers from Jan. 8, 2023.

And Chinese residents are rushing to plan their travel overseas.

The Epoch Times (ET) reports that according to Chinese travel sites, the number of searches for visas to travel abroad increased ten-fold, and the search volume of international air tickets soared by 850 percent.

Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, the U.K. and the United States were among the most searched Chinese travel destinations.

Could this be Xi’s way to reinfect the world since he failed so miserably to contain the virus originally born in Wuhan?

The short answer is – of course.

The ET adds:

A health expert has sharply criticized the Chinese regime’s lifting of international travel restrictions in the midst of a massive COVID wave sweeping through the country, saying the move is “extremely irresponsible” and could cause a global resurgence of the pandemic.

However, ET notes that some experts see the move as far more than irresponsible:

Sean Lin, a virologist and former lab director at the viral disease branch of the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, said that the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) opening up of the country is actually a strategy to get everyone infected not only within China, but around the world.

“When they can’t control the outbreak, they push it to the whole world. Just like when COVID first broke out in Wuhan, people who had been infected in Wuhan were allowed to travel around the world. The strategy is the same now as before,” he said.

ET adds:

The border reopening comes as China is gripped in a surge of COVID, which by the regime’s own estimates infected 248 million people in the first 20 days of December. Analysis by UK researchers also projected 167 and 279 million cases nationwide, which could lead to between 1.3 and 2.1 million deaths.

Meanwhile, health officials at provincial and local levels have reported millions of infections in their regions, contradicting the official national count.

So, the world may need to prepare for yet another deadly pandemic of a ‘China virus’ deliberately spread by the country’s communist leaders. ALD
