A congressional investigation reveals the Veterans Administration has been pulled from its mission of serving veterans to instead register voters in a heavily Democrat area of the swing state of Michigan ahead of the 2024 election, raising questions as to whether the Biden-Harris administration is trying to rig the outcome.
U.S. House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Chairman Mike Bost (R-IL), “released a fourth letter he sent to Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary Denis McDonough regarding the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) failure to comply with the Committee’s September subpoena of documents related to Executive Order (EO) 14019 and its Related Interagency Agreement with the Michigan Department of State,” the Committee announced in a statement.
“Through this executive order, the V.A., Department of Justice, Peace Corps, and every other federal agency, has been told to use their resources to partner with states as voter registration agencies,” Bost wrote in his September demand for documents.
“To date the Biden-Harris administration has not provided the Committee with any of the requested documents and information despite the September 27, 2024, deadline,” the Committee now reports.
Concerns have been raised because the Biden-Harris administration only appears to be registering voters in parts of the state that would lean in favor of Harris.
“V.A. is only registering voters in Saginaw and Detroit at facilities that cater to veterans living in the swing counties that have historically determined whether Michigan will go red or blue on November 5th,” Bost wrote in September.
“Let me put a finer point on it,” he added. “If you look at a map, V.A. is not focused on registering veterans to vote in General Bergman’s district in northern Michigan, or the west side of the state outside Grand Rapids. Why does the Biden-Harris administration think these veterans don’t deserve access to the same voter registration resources as veterans living in southeast Michigan?”
“For VA’s entire existence it has never operated as a voter registration agency until this executive order – which means Congress has a right to know what is going on,” Bost now writes.
“But under the Biden-Harris administration, fully complying with congressional subpoenas and oversight is viewed as optional. Further, to my knowledge, VA is only working with the Michigan Secretary of State to register veterans to vote in one specific part of the state,” Bost adds.
With just days until the election, “it doesn’t take a political scientist to understand why my committee would have some questions about this arrangement. I have been asking for the full story on this issue for months and have acted in good faith to try and get some answers,” Bost writes.
“It’s time for the department to step up and do their part. If VA continues to not comply, we will be forced to consider taking further action such as holding the Secretary in contempt of Congress,” Bost warns.

The VA should not be involved in elections
Instead they should be taking care of our veterans. Housing and medical for homeless vets. Concentrate on becoming efficient. Take care of veteran families faster medical appts etc
My dad, RIP was a decorated Marine Korean war hero. My mom got $300.00 from the USA military towards is funeral that cost pur family over $10,000 to give him a proper military funeral
We paid for the 21 gun salute, we paid for a live bugler to play Taps. My mom and I had at least 5 live in person visits to the VA just to get the bronze marker for his headstone. They messed it up 3 times. Wrong rank, misspelled name, etc. So much stress for a widow who had last her husband of 60 years
Just to make sure that her husband was buried and recognized at his grave site as a proud, USA Marine w 32 years combined active and reserves. He enlisted at age 17. The only child and only son, so my grandparents proudly gave their permission
VA, stick to your core duties and clean up your organization. Stay out of party politics
Your job is to serve is veterans and their families.
